Band of Brothers

It just started, looks like a good show. Except for one thing, i just can’t bring myself to see David Schwimmer as a tough guy. I find myself thinking “thats Ross, tell him to shut his scrawny ass up!” anyone else having this problem?

I didn’t even know Schwimmer was in it. I don’t have cable, but having read the book, I really wanted to see this. David Schwimmer is NOT one of the faces I would have imagined on any of the people in the book. Please tell me he’s not Winter or Nixon. I can maybe see him as the instructor, who was apparently a bit of a weasel.

Yeah he’s the instructor.

Well, that’s alright then I guess. Having read the book, I’ll leave the thread now before I inadvertantly toss out a spoiler.

I’m sure HBO will release a box set, possibly in time for Christmas.

I liked seeing the results of Sobel (Schwimmer) being conned into cutting the barbed wire fence and later sent where his power trip won’t endanger the soldiers.

I’m not a war movie buff, but my husband has been really looking forward to this and when he asked me to watch with him, I couldn’t say no.

I watched the direction aspects and was very impressed. I, too, didn’t expect Schwimmer to pull it off, but he was pretty convincing.

It was beautiful to watch. And the interviews at the beginning of each segment were successful (for me, anyway) in bringing home the fact that this is no fictional account.

I know I said I’d stay away, but HI AGAIN!

For those of you enjoying the mini-series, I cannot recommend the book enough. It’s written by Stephen A. Ambrose and is told by the men who were there through interviews Ambrose conducted. I cannot express in words how wonderful the book was.

I thought the show was amazing. It is so wonderful to have such quality television brought to my home commercial free ! The first episode was excellent, I liked David Schwimmer he did an excellent job with the part and his character was really interesting.

The second episode was brilliant, the flight scenes were cool and the battle scenes were very nerve-wrenching. I was getting butterflies myself when those guys were getting ready for the jump.

The interviews in the beginning added a lot to the segment which followed.

I’m looking forward to the rest of the season. It will be interesting to see how the different directors add (or detract) from the show.

Forget David Schwimmer! How in the sam hill did Donnie Wahlberg go from New Kids on the Block to this?!

(I know, I know… he was in The Sixth Sense and all that stuff…)

Either way, I thought the entire cast actually did a very good job. (Not to mention the writing, directing, cinematography, editing…)
