Bands For Which You Can Rattle Off the Entire Line-up

Me, too. I think this stems from having nothing to do while listening to an album in the 70s and 80s (no video of the songs, no internet… heck, no iPhone or PC). So I just read the liner notes…

“Hey, Leland Sklar! Isn’t he that bass guy from Milwaukee? He’s playing on James Taylor’s Mud Slide Slim… now where have I heard… wait, he was in The Section and … wasn’t he on Jackson Browne’s first album?” (rummage through orange crates full of vinyl)

Miles Davis might be the most difficult. I might be half way there.

Many of them. Heck, I can even do it for bands that have had dozens of lineup changes!

Off the top of my head:

Not counting bands named after the members (Emerson Lake & Palmer)

The Traveling Wilburys
Puffy
SMAP
Pink Lady
Perfume
Gorillaz
Maximum the Hormone
Dolls Boxx
Gacharic Spin
Man With A Mission

The Beatles

Simon and Garfunkel

Peter Paul and Mary

Brother!

Another brother from a different mother! Alright!

I still do it today. I read liner notes like they have the secret to eternal life in them.

Jethro Tull – depending on the year, some years not covered.

That IS impressive! Probably an even longer list than King Crimson!

Anthony “Top” Topham
Eric Clapton
Jeff Beck
Jimmy Page
Keith Relf
Chris Dreja
Paul Samwell-Smith
Jim McCarty
