Banned Episode of the TV series...The Flintstones?

Ok…I’m puzzled.

Is there a banned episode of this series?

Why?

And, where can I see it, on DVD, Blue Ray, or streaming?

Probably this

Please don’t blind link to videos. Include a description or embed the video.

nevermind

You think maybe, just maybe, he could be linking to something related to a banned episode of The Flintstones?

Is the OP thinking of those Flintstones cigarette commercials?

I didn’t know it was a video, I thought it could’ve been a webpage. The point is without a description I didn’t know and it’s always better to include the pertinent information no matter what the context.

If you are using a desktop/notebook computer hovering the mouse pointer over the text will display the URL. If you are using a phone/tablet, long-pressong on the link will reveal the URL.

It’s a courtesy. I’m not asking too much here.

It this particular thread I think it was blindly obvious from the context that it would be a video from the possible banned episode, which is exactly what it was. (And pretty darned racist, probably a very good idea not to imbed.)

Moderating: Both of you stop now. This is not the pit. It was OK to ask and @Darren_Garrison don’t be an ass. But then for both of you to continue, is rather silly. Take it to the Pit or drop it.

Apparently this doesn’t work all the time, maybe the browser makes a difference. I’m on Opera, and I get nothing from hovering.

If the networks just (wisely) choose not to air that episode, it’s not banned. Has there been some FCC or other network ruling that it can’t be broadcast?

According to the Flinstones site on Fandom the episode linked by @Snarky_Kong is called “The Prowler” and this is listed in the episode notes:

This is the only episode in the series that has not aired on MeTV, likely as a result of negative stereotypes associated with Rockimoto Hashimoto. However, it aired on Cartoon Network and Boomerang until April 2023.

On Tubi, there is a disclaimer before this episode is shown because of the stereotypes of the Rockimoto Hashimoto character.

Presumably because of the stereotypes, this episode is rated TV-14 on Max.

The episode called “Droop-Along Flinstone

After several complaints and controversies from the Native community, this episode was banned in parts of Canada.

The episode called “Latin Lover

Because of it’s mild jokes about spousal abuse, this episode is no longer politically correct and isn’t in circulation anymore.

Apparently there are FOUR. (I didn’t realize the others were banned.)

The three mentioned, and a Halloween Episode, that went a bit far. Only shown once.

Anybody got anything on that last one?

Details are scarce.

The show only came to an end when they ran out of rocks with which to make punny names.

I find the comments much more offensive than the cartoon (and I find the cartoon pretty offensive).

Yeah, I was curious about them. I wonder how many are bots and/or propaganda. I’m skeptical of the ones saying “as an asian man myself, I loved when all the kids would gather around me and pull their eyes tight, so this brings back fond memories.”

There do seem to be a lot of “supporters” that have contentless Facebook pages.

I question whether “banned” is an appropriate description. To me, banned means that some authority has dictated that the episode may not be shown. It seems like what’s happening here is whoever owns the broadcasting rights has just decided that they don’t want to show it.
