I thought I’d start a thread to see if we could get any comments (good and/or bad).

Now I truly know how old I am, seeing I was just a kid when I started watching them in reruns on WGN in Chicago

I was just a kid when the first episode was broadcast. I remember being all excited about a cartoon on in the evening, not just Saturday morning! I don’t recall what the first episode was, tho.

I was 6.

I think this is the most appropriate video to commemorate the milestone.

I was wondering why one of the local morning shows signed off playing a cover of the Flinstones theme.

The Flinstones were 25 before I ever saw an episode.

A Flintstones marathon?

Yabba Dabba Do!

Wikipedia lists the episodes in the order in which they originally aired each season.

It’s important to note that the first episode that aired was “The Flintstone Flyer” , but the first episode that was produced was “The Swimming Pool” (#3 in the list), and was also based off of the pilot “Flagstones” episode.

I’m surprised they lived this long, what with smoking all those Winstons.

Actually, they were Winstones.

Meant to ask about this! Thanks for the info.

Comcast doesn’t have Boomerang. Those rock heads.

Our Comcast doesn’t have the regular station, either, but you can find Boomerang shows – including the premiere Flintstones episode – on Boomerang On Demand on the On Demand menu. Look for it.

I remember when the first show came on. I was unimpressed. I was a big Rocky and Bullwinkle fan back then (age 8) and saw this as nothing all that great.

Still, the fact that it was on at night kept me watching and hoping it might improve.

Yeah, I did. It’s the only one. I’d like to have been able to watch at least some of the marathon. In fact, I’d love to see all of the older shows on Boomerang. Comcast still has a bunch of rock heads.
