Rather than restart a thread I had recently, because this is different question, will start again.
Several people suggested Petromalt to help prevent cat-barfing, which I tried. At first they would not eat the stuff at all, so put some on their paws. They did lap it off with a lot of dirty looks at me, but still would not eat it from my fingers.
Next day just stuffed it in their mouths, and they were not happy either. The following day, A Miracle. I put some on my finger to stuff in their mouth, and they both happily ate it right away. Go figure.
Anyway, now the love the stuff and beg all the time, so had to hide the tube. The instructions say to give 'em about one inch daily for a week, then just twice a week.
Is this the doseage most of you use? How much, and how often?
Yeah, Lenny and Squiggy will lick it right from the tube. They love the malt flavor.
An inch daily gives Lenny the runs, so he gets half that, every other day for about a week or two. Then I usually don’t need to give him anymore unitl the next big shedding season. He’s also on a “haiball remedy” food, which as far as I can tell, just has lots of fiber.
Heavy, heavy sigh. My cat who doesn’t get hairballs LOVES the hairball remedy, and comes at a dead run when she hears me go near the tube. My other cat, the hairiest cat alive who gets hairballs ALL THE TIME, won’t eat the stuff and mostly flings it off her paw no matter how I mush it in there. Cats are so damned contrary.
Oh yeah, I give them the stuff about once a week for the non-hairball cat, and every other day for the hairy one.
I tried using that, many moons ago. Couldn’t get it near the cats.
My cats would eat it if I put it on their little scoop of wet food (dry food twice daily, wet food mixed in one time). I do it once a week, and I also feed them with IAMS indoor kitty food (controls weight and hairballs, good stuff). They still get hairballs occasionally, but I figure that’s a hazard of cat ownership.
I just wanted to say that I’ve always wanted a creamer in the shape of a puking cat.
