Sandberg got screwed AGAIN! AGH!
More info:
Surprising, Joe Carter and Keith Hernandez didn’t get the required 5%. They’re off the ballot until they’re eligible for consideration by the bi-yearly Veteran’s Committee.
Agh.
Well, at least Sandberg was third. Next time he’s a shoe-in!
<crosses fingers>
Why the heck does Ryno have so much trouble? He’s amongst the top ten, and maybe even top 5, at his position all time, unlike certain others who were tops of their era but not amongst the all-time greats (Jack Morris, Bert Blyleven, Jim Rice, Andre Dawson, Dale Murphy).
ESPN baseball writer (and HOF voter) Jayson Stark has an interesting column about the ballot and how he reasoned out his choices. Sandburg should be in easily - I can’t figure out why he’s not.
