I know the answer, too, so no wild goose chase like last night.
What is the fewest possible number of pitches a pitcher can throw in a complete game?

27
No
27 outs…27 pitches…in a 9 inning game. Unless you are juggling the books.
25, of course. I think.
No. It’s legit.
Umm… wait. Does it count as a complete game if I lose 1-0 and am the visiting pitcher so only go 8 innings? I sort of seem to remember no, but I could be wrong.

g8rguy got it. Visiting team, pitcher gets three outs on three pitches each inning, except one batter hits a home run on the first pitch somewhere in there. 1-0 win for the home team, who doesn’t need to bat in the 9th.
Okay, I now officially join the ranks of the double posters. How embarrassing! :o
