I couldn’t find a recent thread so I thought I’d open one. I have a specific question to ask but feel free to use this thread to discuss the game (all formats). I’m playing in glorious DX11.
My question is: When does the third catwoman mission initiate? (Or more to the point, when do I get to be catwoman again?) I have discovered an annoyingly large number of catwoman riddler trophies and I want to be able to actually collect them.
Do you have to do something as Batman to initiate it? Or does it trigger at a certain point in Batman’s story?
The Catwoman missions are triggered automatically as you progress through the story. Once the main plot is over, a couple of locations will appear on the map that let you swap between her and Batman at will. I’d not worry too much about the Catwoman trophies until you get to that point - although it’s usually a good idea to check them out with Batman when you find them. A lot of them are in places that are inaccessible unless you open them up with Batman first: behind explodable walls, or locked behind computer-access doors. Kind of sucks when you’re going back with Catwoman to find the trophies, and it turns out you need to do a Batman glide kick to knock down a plywood wall before you can get to it.
Trying to not spoil too much: not for a long, long time. The third Catwoman segment has no freeform city exploration to it whatsoever. It’s also the last Catwoman segment in the main storyline.
However:
After you’ve finished the game, you’re free to go back wherever you want ; and to switch between Batman and Catwoman as you’re doing so
So, yeah, mark those trophies (you have to HOLD the button until the indicator stops spinning ! Didn’t figure that out until like halfway through the game) and move on.
That being said, unless you’re a 100% completion kinda guy, I wouldn’t sweat the Cat trophies - AFAIK they don’t unlock anything.
Let me add another question, if I may: I started a new “plus” game after finishing it, and I’m at the mission where you need to find Penguin’s signal disruptors. But, I still have the thing on screen that lets me look for the lowest temperature, and not the signal level thing to help me find the disruptors. I went to the places where two of them were at in the normal game, and in the first the disruptor isn’t there at all, and in the other there’s just a floating antenna but the consoles that should be beneath it are gone.
It looks an awful lot like a bug, but I may be the only person to have gotten this one. My google searches come up with nothing. And I cannot even restart the plus game, there does not appear to be any way to.
Anybody else have this bug? I’m playing on the PC, and got the game via Steam.
Haven’t played the NG+, but that sounds like a glitch. I don’t have any advice, but I feel your pain. One of my Assassin Recruits in AC:Revelations won’t come back from a mission and it looks like I may have to restart to get all 7 master assassins. Oy.
Finished the main storyline, and still only about 60% completed, so I’m wandering around and getting the riddler stuff, looking for the mysterious guy, and searching for some more faceless victims.
Great game. Great story. Great actions sequences. Great replayability.
It is a great game… but I’ve been finding that the Plus campaign is simply too damn hard for me. I may’ve gotten spoiled or something, but without those blue little markers above their heads, I’ve got no fucking clue when I counter. I guess I have to play some more on regular to learn what animations to look for.
For what it’s worth I liked Asylum better and I don’t think that the sandbox adds all that much in the end, but it’s still an A+ game.
Yeah, you have to relearn combat from the ground up. And you will learn to HATE the ninjas in NG+ because their regular attacks and their weapon attacks look extremely similar so they cut you up more often than not if you try and counter them instead of just being somewhere else. Fact is, in NG+ you learn to love the dodge and whenever you’re playing to score or low on health it’s just punch - dodge - punch - dodge rather than the usual punching and countering
That being said, it’s good training for the challenge rooms - in some Riddler campaigns it’s just easier to take the “no warning” difficulty option in a brawl room than it is to take the hit on a predator section.
ETA: that being said, when you get to the point where you’re rocking the faces of huge crowds without taking a single punch, all with no indicators, you get to feel extremely Batman. Yes, Batman is an adjective now.
The last Catwoman segment you have to go back to her apartment to get her goods. At this point you hit an explosion and told you have to go after Two Face in the Museum. Both getting to your apartment, and getting to the musuem allows you to explore the city.
The game was fantastic. I enjoyed the main story, and all of the side missions. I thought they did a good job of setting up a couple of possibilities for sequels. And, I enjoyed the gameplay as much, if not more than the original.
I’m not good enough to pass the challenge levels. But, I was surprised that NG+ didn’t give me many problems. There were a couple of levels that took a bit more work. (Notably the level against the Joker when he kept calling reinforcements. Tough!) But, it was never so hard that it stopped being fun.
You know what came close to being that hard? The flying side missions! Man! That was some tough stuff. I got them all done in the regular game, but I haven’t attempted redoing them, because I fear that darn clown’s mouth!
Up there with Portal 2 as my favorite of the year. Luckily, I finished up 100 percent of the main game, and most of NG+ before my PS3 gave up the ghost. (Probably time for a new one! So sad.) Or, I’d be playing it right now.

That’s technically the fourth and post-last segment, since it takes places after the main game is over.
The last in-story Catwoman mission, the one I was talking about, is when you go loot Strange’s vault, all for nothing because Batman is a big baby. That being said, you’re right: I guess there’s still technically the possibility of faffing around between Ivy’s house and the sewer manhole, although I doubt most players would do that on their first run for relatively self-evident reasons.
Agreed, with one exception. Screw virtual training sideways with a red hot poker.
My biggest hurdle in NG+ was Penguin’s arena. I must have died like a dozen times before getting it down, since it’s the first really big tussle and I wasn’t quite proficient at blind fighting yet. That was painful. Pretty smooth sailing from here on out though.
The fight with Freeze was also immensely more enjoyable on NG+, simply because you have to use all the options, including a couple I wasn’t even aware you could do.
Yeah, some of those flying missions took me way too long to do…but I was grateful, because they did get me good enough at gliding, grapnel boosting, and dive-bombing to get some trickier Riddler trophies.
And sorry to hear about your PS3…I hope you had PSN+ and cloud storage, otherwise you might lose all your saved game data…(it depends on whether or not your harddrive is intact…if that’s ok, you can simply swap it into a new PS3 and be right as rain.)
I’ve finished the main story, and most of the side missions…still have to find the mysterious guy with the symbols one or two more times, the identity thief killer, and collect the rest of Riddler’s trophies and riddles.
Then onto the challenges…I want to get 100% on this game and get a platinum trophy…most games I give up all hope of getting a platinum because they have multiplayer associated trophies, and I suck at multiplayer…but games that only have single player trophies I do attempt to get a platinum. Not that I succeed, mind you…still only own one game with a plat, and that’s Uncharted 1…though if I put a lot of time into it, I could get one for Dark Souls…it just is a LOT of time, I’d have to do at least three more playthroughs at this point…
