Battery Nomenclature

What do the type designation of batteries represent? For example, if I know a battery is a 18-85-21, what do the numbers mean. It appears the 85 is the Ampere-hours, but what are the 18 and 21? I’m guessing they have something to do with the length of charge/discharge or the energy density, but I can’t pin it down. Also, would this be imprinted on a regular battery, or would I have to look at the manufacturer’s specs to find this. Thanks in advance.

Well, I know that the 21 is a Group Size. See here

Oh, this is car batteries? I was thinking of things like AAs and CR123s and the various types used in electronics.

Nope, I’m talking about large lead-acid batteries.

Also, does anybody know how to derive this formula:
Rate of Hydrogen Release
1 Ampere x 1 Hour x 1 Cell = 0.016 cubic feet / Ampere Hour / Cell

Bump.
