As always, thread is padded with content-free post so mouseover preview doesn’t reveal to casual browsers that Baltar and Six stole the pairs gold when Starbuck dropped Apollo on the final overhead carry.
Spoiler policy: If it’s been aired, or if it’s purely speculative, no need for a spoiler box. If it’s from a future episode as revealed in interviews, blogs, etc., or if it’s speculation based on same, box it. And label the box as to the nature of the spoiler so we can decide for ourselves whether or not to dip into its sweet nougaty center.
After tonight, just two episodes remaining in the second season. Then we have to wait a few months for season three to start up. It’ll be tough, but it’ll still be a shorter break than the gap between new episodes of Lost.
I think it’s safe to say, based on the preview, that this is the episode a lot of people have been looking forward to. I won’t say too much if you’ve been skipping the previews (which, as you may recall from the second half of “Resurrection Ship,” have tended to give away more than is probably healthy), but suffice to say that we should learn a helluva lot about the Cylon point of view tonight.
Of course, that means there probably won’t be much development of the fleetside plot, but it’s not like there’s been a lot of that anyway, not counting Baltar’s decision to throw his hat into the presidential ring. (Or whatever science-fiction-y metaphor you’d find more appropriate: his helmet into the spacedock, his Lobot muffs into the warp coil, whatever.)
And if anybody hasn’t already heard about the tie-in comic book, here’s some interesting info:
Sorry, not sure what you’re asking. If you’re wondering which Boomer we saw in the preview:
Based on my reading, tonight’s show will have the original Boomer from the miniseries, the one who shot Adama, waking up on Caprica after being Jack-Rubied by Cally. So we’re flashing back a couple of months at the top.
I also understand there are some developments with Mama Boomer, but I’m not as clear on that so I’ll reserve comment.
Looking at an episode synopsis for tonight’s episode, it’s not just Boomer-ific. It’s also about recently killed Six, probably the Six who died saving Baltar in the mini-series. I wanna know if Chip Six is real or not!!
Could also be the Six who broke Starbuck’s fall in the Delphi Museum, or maybe even the Six who assaulted Starbuck’s fire extinguisher with her head in the baby factory.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed that maybe we’ll get to meet a new model of humanoid Cylon.
Frakking AWESOME episode this week, so deep it will need multiple re-watching, just when you thought the show couldn’t get any deeper or multilayered…
Ron Moore, you’re forgiven for the flashbacks in this episode, but please, please, for the love of the Gods, PLEASE cut back on the flashbacks…
nice to see a Cylon focused episode for a change, and just when you thought the Toasters were becoming a one-line plot device, they Evolve again, the coming schism between Six and Sharon Vs. the “normal” meatbag Toasters looks to be quite compelling…
i’d rate this ep as a 9.95 out of 10, this is one of the best episodes yet, right up there with the Mini
Humph.
No body’s said, “Gosh Plant, you were right! Six was wasted saving Baltar!”
If I had a Xmas card list, you guys would be off of it!
I can’t decide if I like the Six with Baltar in her head or not. What does it tell us about the Six in Baltar’s head? Are they both crazy? It is because they were in wuv?
Top notch episode, I have to say. A Baltar in Six was something I didn’t see coming at all, and for a moment I thought he might be one himself. What I found most interesting was the way the Cylons interacted with one another, is there a rank structure here? Does a 3 (the reporter cylon) outrank a 6 and 8? Does the order mean something?
Also curious was the absence of arguably the most mystical and religious of the cylons, Leoben. Is his model number 1? Lots of unanswered questions, and I hope Ron Moore keeps developing the Cylon end of the story. What’s the homeworld like? More flesh models, or something we haven’t seen yet?
I’m giving it 9/10, despite the absence of space combat. Normally I’d be complaining, but in addition to the goodies we got, I thought this episode was well-written and beautifully filmed, if somewhat clumsy in presentation. Not quite Kobol’s Last Gleaming, but getting close.
And Poptart’s new mom is all kinds of frakking hot. I’ll take an extra side order of that from now on, thanks Ron.

When Six and Sharon shook hands, did anyone else get the impression that they would “box” the Lucy Lawless’s character’s memories? Remember, the Lucy Lawless character was all set to do that to Sharon, then after Gaius Baltar’s interactions with Caprica Six, she told Sharon what was in store for her and they both helped the resistance fighter to escape.**
On the baltar chip… it still makes me think that he is a cylon, and that when they both ‘uploaded’ some data got mingled.
I loved his snippy comments to Six…
and in the awakening of Sharon… was that a new model we saw? The male looked different than any we remember seeing.
Another tidbit… they apparently upload in ‘order’ of death… Six told Sharon that it ‘would be awhile’ before they had to worry about zenachick’s memories in her replacement.
An interesting point, but why is he “hiding”? Why must the other Cylonc know about him?
If he were a Cylon, why the need for a Cylon to trick him into letting a Cylon into the defense net?
