Battlestar Galactica 3.5 - "Collaborators" (spoilers)

I don’t mean to get too far off topic, but where are people getting all this info. about the coming season? Is it all from the podcasts? I’ve made it through one, but I don’t have much patience for such things. The BSG Wiki is nice for keeping some already-revealed facts straight, but it’s not much for true spoilers. Is there some good clearinghouse of info. out there? The SciFi channel’s site, besides the podcast, looks like one big advertisement to me, though I confess I haven’t explored it thoroughly.

Try here for a start.

Dayum! A little peek revealed this does indeed have the goods. Dare I look more?

Thanks!

Hmm sounds like RDM’s ripping off Farscape in Torn.

OK, I’ll admit they’ve played fast and loose with the law in the past. It was Rosilyn that told Adama to kill Cain–and I doubt she could provide a cite for that being lawful. I kinda like the tension beteen military and civil authority as a subplot. More Galaticky Goodness for all

Also Six in a red bikini! ROWRR!

Well, Cain’s actions in deying the rightful President wouldn’t have been lawful either.

Kind of a Catch-22.

Lawfully get rid of Cain? She tells you to take a flying leap, deposes your government, and probably puts you in front of a firing squad.

Only one way to do it other than the convenient Deus-Ex-Sixina.

An interview with James Callis by the famous Julia Houston of scifi.about.com.

Contains a tiny amusing spoiler.

It would be much more appropriate for his character if you squeezed him and his genitals popped out.

Hey, I said, “contains a tiny amusing spoiler.”

Pistols at dawn! (She’s mine!) I finally figured out where I recognized her from - Stella on John Doe. It says she was also on Dark Angel, but I dont recall her from then.

She definitely likes sci-fi! She is the perfect woman!
Regarding Gaeta, he has always been one of my favorites. I always liked his unsung hero role, but it nearly cost him this time around. As someone stated earlier, it looks like he will become the resident genius of the fleet with Gaius gone.

And they should let him have a boyfriend. Maybe him and Capt. Kelly hook up!

Quick question: how do we know that Gaeta is Gae? I don’t really have gaydar - is it because his name is Felix?

It’s the fabbo tattoo.

And his unhidden (former) manlove for Gaius Baltar.

I think with all the fanwankery* even evident in this thread, the Gayta stuff has got to be the most wishful-thinking-based of the them all. We don’t know, and if the pattern of the BSG writers is any guide, poor Gaeta probably just won’t get any, whichever way he swings. I certainly hope some of that pattern is preserved, anyway, because BSG is not frakking Snakes On A Plane, for frak’s sake. What’s it called when “fanwank” directly influences writers?

*New word to me of very late, and the root would make a great band name!

Fanservice.

Seriously. With “fanwanking” and “fanservice” being performed all over the Internet, I think it is pretty obvious that fandom desparately needs to turn off the TV and get laid.

I missed Friday’s ep. When does the SciFi channel repeat it (yes, I can go online and pay for it, but that’s no fun)?

BSG pushes the envelope on so many things I think it would be interesting to see how the crew handles a gay officer, though I agree that I suspect we’ll just see an asexual Gaeta for the show.

Ideally they wouldn’t notice or care at all. Of course all of this is wishful thinking based on his name and the fact that he’s never had an on-screen relationship with a woman or referenced one.

Ideally indeed, but also consider the fact that they need the human race to regrow and that takes babies…

And yes I know it’s all idle navel gazing, but it is still interesting to consider. And personally I think RDM lurks on the forums.

I always get to this thread late and I’ve yet to make it all the way through, so I’m probably repeating other’s observations.

I believe only a couple were spaced via Galactica, but I’ll relisten to that part to see. Also, communication through Galactica is rather primitive. There’s no network flashing warnings. Anything they did would have to be a non-computerized link from the Viper tubes to the bridge.

This makes even more sense. They’re going to keep civilians in one area of the ship until they affect the transfers. They’re not going to be roaming around a woefully understaffed battlestar. Once someone gets separated, avoiding contact should be easy.
