Wait, wait. Did they say the next ep is in two weeks??
Is it just me or has Lee become even more disposible than before? He hasn’t been in the last couple episodes, I didn’t miss him, and care that he was in tonights.
Why isn’t there a new episode next week? Oh and spoiler for the preview following. You have been duly warned.
Holy shit! Caprica-Six is PREGNANT with Tigh’s baby? What else could it be that Cottle found that would piss off Adama?
Not the Quorum, just Roslin and Baltar.
Yes, two weeks.
But, holy frak! did they just tease us with Lampkin, the guy who mysteriously showed up to defend Baltar and then mysteriously disappeared again! possible Fifth tease?
This was a good episode (especially the last five minutes, as usual), but they seriously need to vary from their habit of making the teaser the biggest bang of the episode. Drop Galactica on someone’s head again, for frak’s sake.
Wow, Athena lost her frakkin’ mind. She didn’t even have the right Six. You’d think she, of all people, would realize that all members of one model are not exactly the same. Her actions seem fairly ridiculous and the mission to find Earth, along with all the people on the Basestar, have been jeopardized for no really great reason. That’s what they get for trusting a toaster. Of course Tigh went along with it because he’s keeping his secret to the detriment of the human race, as previously predicted.
The previews for next ep, if I’m not mistaken, indicate that
Tigh got Caprica pregnant? Or something happened after Cottle “did some tests on the Cylon prisoner” that Adama knows Tigh has been having sex with her. Their confrontation looks pretty violent.
@PreviewsPregnant? That would be weird. Cylon/Cylon kids? Could be I guess but I was thinking Cottle just finds evidence of sex.
Silence for about five seconds after the fade to black, then
FUCK!
And laughter. They sure know how to put on a show.
No new episode for two weeks.
How many shows can have you salivating for more just with one word?
Jump!
Next week is Memorial Day Weekend so that’s why they’re skipping a week.
This was a great show! Like Maholoth I was expecting to hear Felix jump into “All along the Watchtower” at any second. Given that this is the first of a two parter it’s possible.
Now we know why the “Last Supper” picture has Natalie pointing to Boomer so accusingly.
Shh! Can’t talk about the previews. I shouldn’t even have revealed we have to wait two weeks
We postpone our complaints on your harping about some mysterious “spelling list” to ask if your Sister favors a particular bar, flower, color or song. Please tell her I am not really this tall, I’m sitting on my wallet.
But I digress.
An episode with one less Six is good.
levdrakon, re: the preview, hell yeah it would be weird, but…
maybe the Final Five are different and can get another Cylon pregnant? Who the hell knows anymore? If it’s not that she’s pregnant, you have to wonder, how else would Cottle find out about the sex? Would he be doing random gynecological exams on Caprica? That’s a creepy thought in itself.
I don’t think the Quorum is going to be around much longer. Roslin is clearly getting tired of pretending that they actually have any authority. Was Tory with Roslin on the basestar? If not than all of the Fraked Four are with the Fleet. D’Anna won’t be able to point any out on the baseship. Granted she’ll probally mention that Tigh is one of them. I got chills when we saw Gaeta and his stump in the same shot.
I’m sad to see Natalie go.
I was starting to like her.
Doesn’t matter. She was double crossing the humans.
No, she was the only one who didn’t want to do the double cross, who wanted to do the right thing and tell the truth. She was supposed to stall so that Leoben could talk the Centurions down and undo the hostage-taking plan. Of course, once Athena killed her, that went right out the window because the hybrid ordered the jump. The frakked up situation with the hostages on the Basestar is the result of Athena’s murder of Natalie-- who was the only honest Cylon in the bunch.
Instead of telling the truth. She instigated the double cross and had second thoughts.
At any rate, the less Cylons the better.
She had a moment of clarity, I thought, where she realized that humans are justified in their hatred and mistrust of Cylons, that maybe the Cylons needed to be trustworthy for a change instead of perpetuating the hostilities. She wanted to do things differently, probably related to an epiphany about mortality and how awful it is to kill someone who can only die once.
When Athena killed Natalie, she guaranteed that the hostilities would escalate, and she jeopardized the mission to Earth, not to mention all the high ranking human officials on the Basestar… over a dream she had where a totally different Six is picking up Hera. Crazy. No way are you going to convince me Athena did the right thing here.
Normally I’d agree with you, but not in this case.
Agreed. We’re talking about a minority of rebels here. Shame to hate them based solely on their “race” as it were.
I want to say too, I wasn’t looking forward to a kid-centric episode but it wasn’t was it? Not only that, but Hera is adorable. I can’t believe I said it, but there it is.
Analogies are odious, but they offer the best argument in this situation. She planned for the Cylons to double cross the humans and then went against her plan.
A prostitute gives me a venereal disease, and I refuse to use her services again. She approaches me and swears it won’t happen again. I am expected to trust her?
The double cross hadn’t happened yet and we had reason to believe it wouldn’t happen because Natalie convinced Leoben to call it off. When Athena shot Natalie, the double cross happened as originally planned. Your analogy doesn’t work, sorry.
Of course, trusting Cylons is a bad idea in general, a rule you’d think the Colonists would have learned by now…
The whole thing with Gaeta… Just didn’t do it for me. This is actually very typical of BSG actually. I saw what they were trying to do, the whole bit with him singing being intercut between the other more important scenes. But the main problem I have with it is
A) Gaeta isn’t the most sympathetic character
B) Does anyone really react in that way from losing a limb? I’m not going to pretend that losing a limb is a big deal, but of the handful of people I’ve known that react to similar situations (a dramatic loss of bodily function) none are so morose. Seriously. Quit being such a baby! Phantom pain is one thing. I can understand that, but you’d think that would elicit an entirely different response. Just an example of how, for me, BSG tends to try for some things and gets it wrong.
SPOILER ALERT*
I didn’t want to put this in spoiler tags because I’m going to ask a question at the end. Besides, it’s a TV show. Why the need for spoilers? Whenever I don’t watch BSG for a while I avoid this thread. I know there will be spoilers.
just watching it again on DVR. So the ones present on the Baseship are:
Roslin
Helo
Leoben
Baltar
The other Boomer model
No sign of the fraked four.
Secondly on the next episode teaser…
There is a quick shot of Natalie on what looks like a white bed. It is a closeup of her face. The only way I can describe it is that she doesn’t look dead. Why would they show a dead Natalie in the next episode if we were supposed to assume that she is already dead? Her face is full of color. Secondly when she got shot, she was sort of writhing in pain but didn’t stop moving…
Also, I did notice that lawyer guy. Also notice that Lee was being sworn in as, I guess, President in Roslin’s absence.
Okay here’s the big question I have. As far as I know, let me try to recap the intentions of both parties as best as I can.
Colonial Fleet:
Unbox the 3(?) and then destroy the resurrection ship
Cylons:
Initially hold humans as hostages, but then they changed to natalie stalling the humans while Leoben informs the Centurions. Was the attack that imminent?
So my question is, the jumping of the basestar…That was an accident, right? That hybrid couldn’t have been doing things whilst not plugged in, right? Nobody caught any other plans, did they?
