When the staff walk into the flight ready room on this show, they touch a photo taped to a wall. What is it?
It’s not anyone in particular, just a photo of a guy watching the destruction of the Cylon attack from the first episode of the miniseries. Supposedly there’s a deleted scene on the miniseries DVD of someone giving the photo to the president.

From memory, I believe it’s a photo of an unknown soldier, fallen to his knees in exhaustion and despair during the attack on Caprica. It’s an homage to some of our famous photographs that captured and embodied the emotions of the events during 9-11, if I’m not mistaken.
Thanks. That helps. Several friends didn’t believe me when I told them that the subtext of the show is a commentary on various events relating to 9-11, so that helps put more together for the argument. Is it obvious to everybody that this show is a commentary or exploration at least of post 9-11 life? I was surprised when friends thought it odd.
drhess, are your friends perhaps deaf, blind, non-native speakers of English who have lived in a refrigerator for the last four years? I don’t understand how anyone else could watch this show and not understand it to be a reflection on post-Spet. 11th America.

It’s easy when you don’t live in post-September 11th America.
