I’ve been following your thread too, and was wondering how you’d progressed. Congratulations on being mobile again!
I’m now really mobile! Saturday evening after I got home from Seoul, I decided to walk without crutches (yes, the doctor had already told me it’s okay). I left the crutches at home and walked, not slid, the 45 steps down to street level, walked one block uphill, around the corner, and then one block downhill to my favorite convenience store in my neighborhood. Then I walked all the way back to my apartment.
Sunday, I again left the crutches at home and went to church. Most of the ward were away visiting family in their ancestral hometowns but we still had about 25 people in attendance. Everyone there congratulated me on being crutch-free! I also stood on my own two feet to give my 20-minute talk. I could’ve delivered the talk sitting down but opted to stand and I really stood. I didn’t lean on the podium for support!
I can hardly wait until September 30 so the doctor can see my progress!
Suppose I should’ve updated this thread a bit ago. I went to the hospital the first week of December for the final check on my foot. The doctor said it’s 100% healed. I just spent the last two days on a Scout camporee and had no problem with hoofing it around the hills.
