and the coaches for going too conservative with red zone play calling
oh… and the FG kicker
All week I kept saying that I was tired of watching the Bears play because the games are boring when they win by that much. I apologize for nearly jinxing them. From here on out, I will gladly accept boring.
I have to say that I probably would have been a lot MORE excited about the win if they hadn’t allowed the Cards to get into FG range in the first place…talk about luck that he missed it. I was hoping they would at least block it, so that it would feel like they did something to prevent the Cards from scoring.
BTW, not being a Bears fan, I am not familiar with the roster.
I heard the announcers when they said that Devin Hester was running a kick back for a TD, but I could have sworn they said Dennis Hastert
I thought ol’ Hastert returning kicks for the Bears was going to pretty extreme lengths to improve his reputation in Illinois
Leinert is the offensive guy who fumbled the first one, but that wasn’t his fault either. The left end lined up outside the right tackle, and the tackle just let him run right around him - he looked like he was looking for an inside blitzer to block. Since Leinert’s a lefty, that was his blind side - he had no warning the hit was coming.
I agree wholeheartedly with Bearflag about the playcalling. You dance with the one that brung ya - if you’re moving the ball with a spread offense and quick passing game, you don’t start playing martyball just because you’re winning… Especially if you have one of the worst run-blocking o-lines I’ve ever seen.
It’s only offensive if you miss.
Well, he’s about the size of the Refrigerator Perry.
I went to bed about half time but couldn’t get to sleep. Neighbors were having a Bears party and I kept hearing screaming and pounding when the Bears scored, so I’d turn on the TV, watch the replay, then try to go back to sleep. They finally quieted down after the missed FG.
You missed the Cardinals’ offensive line. A little more blocking and a little more successful running from Edgerrin James (55 yards on 36 carries) and they win that game.
