Higgs has been sprung. She’s sooooooooo excited to be back home, but one thing concerned me. As soon as she came in, she started drinking - LOTS! I’m wondering if they had a water dish in her cage. Before we take her back there, I’m going to find out what the deal is. She just came back in from running around her yard and barking at pedestrians. She’s a goof!
Awww Higgs had her first slumber party. She got to stay up late barking with all the other pups.
I got the new sim card installed in my phone and updated on the new plans AT&T are offering and why the contracts are going bye-bye. I’m not ready for a new phone yet but I will keep all this info in mind when I am. I hop the new sim fixes the problems with the dropped calls.
I’m going to irk for a few hours, get my laundry together and started,
then get cleaned up and head out for Edgewood.
FCM, my dogs don’t eat or drink much of anything if we leave them in a kennel or if we leave them home with a dogsitter. They lie around and mope. Maybe that’s what happened with the Higgs.
I had a very busy day yesterday and it looks like today will be the same. My son leaves for Paris, France early tomorrow morning. I am excited and sort of sad at the same time. He’s going to be far away.
I have to get to two different bank branches today in hopes of tracking down some Euros for him. We almost got some yesterday, but another customer had ordered the amount they had on hand, so I couldn’t get them. This, after going to my bank only to be told they don’t usually have any on hand, but to try Wells Fargo. They had some, but they were for someone else. They tried other branches for me, but it was close to closing, so we couldn’t get to them. Hopefully, we’ll be lucky enough to get some today. I’d rather my son have a couple hundred Euros on hand to make his initial arrival in France a little more stress free.
After the Euro chase, it’s off to the store to pick up some odds and ends, and then back home to take care of chores and help my son pack efficiently.
FCM, he could, but currency exchange rate at airports is stupid expensive. As it is, he has limited time once he arrives to get to the school. He has to take a train and then a bus, and then walk to the school. It’s a big hassle. Taxis are stupid expensive over there too, otherwise he would just take a taxi.
I think we’re going to book a shuttle from the airport to the school. They’re fairly reasonable and it would be a lot less hassle for my son. It would be different if he was traveling light, but he’s going to have a big suitcase, plus a carry on suitcase, plus his daypack with the computer. Train, bus, and then an almost 30 minute walk with all that luggage (after being in the air for hours on end), is just a bit much.
Howdy Y’all! Folks are out on the back porch finishin’ up the ingestion of N.O.L. It’s not horrible outside, 84 Amurrkin, but I got a little hawt so I’m enjoyin’ some A/C for a little bit before headin’ out to the cee-mint pond.
I have been told, told, mind you, not to worry about all the side stuff etc. for the Fourth. OYKW and I shall take care of the meat and others are doin’ everything else. Thus, beans, slaw, N.O.T. sallit, corn on the cob, munchies, and watermelon shall be taken care by others. Same goes for beverages, adult and otherwise.
Know what? In the past I would not have been ok with this, but as I edge my way towards oldfartdom, I guess I have mellowed cause I’m good with others bringin’/doin’ stuff now.
Yay for Higgs bein’ sprung from [del]jail[/del] the kennel!
**Swampy ** sometimes you have to step aside and let the young’uns take charge. Laundry is being washed, Sah-son will put the clothes in the dryer and bring them up. I need some N.O.L. but I don’t know what I want. I could starve to death in a house full of food. I had a slice of cinnamon bun but that’s not real food. I got Sah-son to wipe the cobwebs out of the corners for me, he’s tall, I’m not. I still have dusting to do. Dishes have been washed, by hand, because we don’t want to upset the HFH by using the dishwasher. The male half left his dirty dishes on the counter because he is too lazy to unload the dishwasher. I just scooted them out of the way. I need to put some laundry away and then it’s time to clean up and go.
The grey is gone! You can’t really tell from this photo but trust me. I found a nice little place a half dozen blox up the road - which means I can Jazzy there and back without all the loading and unloading onto and off the car. Plus they’re way more affordable than where I used to went. For less than what I had paid at the other place for just the coloring, I got the color and cut-&-style, and tipped the staff.
**rosie **- you need to do what my sister has been doing - bright colors that change every few months! It used to be fire-engine red. She went to bright green for spring. Now it’s lemon yellow, not at all to be confused with a yellow blond. It makes a statement, that’s for sure.
I assembled the 3 pots that comprise a 3-part planter. I’ll let it fuse for a couple of days, then I’ll decorate it and finish the saucer. It’s a monster planter!
I made cheese straws for the very first time. Except I don’t have a cookie press, so I had to roll out the dough and cut it into strips. They’re not pretty, but they taste good. I’m taking them to a party at my sister’s house tomorrow. Guess I’ll need to ask Santa for a cookie press…
Supper is being delivered - **FCD **wanted salad, I’m getting pizza rolls, and we’ll have cinnamon sticks for dessert. Quick, easy, and cheap… you know the rest.
Howdy Y’all! Had a nice afternoon at the cee-mint pond. Everyone left around four and OYKW and I just had chef sallits for dindin. Watermelon for later if’n we want. All chilled out and relaxated. AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
Sari wish there were some younguns. The “younguns” in our group of friends are in their late forties.
rosie is staff tippin’ anything like cow tippin’?
-swampbear (why yes I have had a few beerverages. why do you ask?)
