G’luck with the procedure, Sah.
As to the heat op, getting out of Texas helps. Getting intimate with snowmelt streams helps more. Rafting near Telluride tomorrow in a wet suit. May be a penultimate solution.
Be cool.

Yeah, me too.
He’s Alive!!!
Let’s see… Irked half day due to dental cleaning. Regular hygienist is out on maternity leave so I got the office manager and I love that she spent time and really did a good job. Not that the regular doesn’t but not like this one. I also get the nitrous so win win.
I lost 2 pounds in the first week of my diet. Hungry sometimes. Make my first adult bevy tonight since last Monday and spilled half of it. There was no more vodka so it was a blessing in disguise.
How is that for mundane?
Hot here and very humid. Re OP–AC all the way. Hubby is in the biz. Cannot be hot. I have enough hot flashes w AC.
I can’t wait to read vunderboobs tale. Here’s hoping you are not in pain.
**Mmooommm. **. What was wrong w your car?
{{{{BBBobbio}}}}
Doctor Frankenstein said that.
Zombie Vunderboob?
I worked. I ate, I am having beverages.
Good luck, sari!
Midget, you should do The Laundromat Song on your Alto Clarinet while doing your laundry. ;D
Good morning, I have read nothing. Anyone keeping up on fb will know that I am about to leave (it’s 03:10, departure in 20 minutes) to make the trek to Sea/Tac to send my baby child, my only son, off to Port Moller, Alaska for the summer. He will be working in the cannery, and on top of making some fast (but hard earned) money he will be sending home a 25# box of that good wild caught Alaskan salmon, as will my daughter’s boyfriend. He is already in Alaska, on the Kenai taking some oil rig classes this week, and will be headed for Port Moller next week.
This is rather traumatic for me . . . all parents go through this in one way or another, but it’s all overwhelming. Yeah, some anxiety is attacking me, I guess it’s good prep for the drive down and back on I5 - yee and haw.
I guess I needed a small vent, Ima go get dressed now and hit the highway, if I have the stamina I will sit down for a bit and see what all y’all are up to. Happy Day!
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of ONLY 87! There’ll be an iceberg in the cee-mint pond! Also it might rain. Or not. The weather forecast is all willy-nilly today.
(((wiki}}} just cause it looks like you need a hug. Look at it this way, he needs adventure in his life. This will be an adventure. Plus, salmon!
doggio we could have a flash mob! Midget on the alto clarinet while the rest sing The Laundromat Song! Bet we’d have the whole place to ourselves in under three minutes.
Butters yay for the weight loss! Boo on the voda spillage.
lieu that sounds like fun. However, I could cool off a lot more easily with a margarita out at the cee-mint pond.
Ok, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. ICK!
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Good morning! It’s 61° in my back yard at the moment -woohoo!! I know the a/c will be on in a few hours, but for now, I’m loving it!
We were having intermittent Check Engine light illumination accompanied by jerky gear changeage on occasion. Turns out there was a bulletin out about the temp sensor in the transmission, so that was replaced along with the harness and a few other little things. They also did a courtesy check of everything else, and the car is just fine. We expected it to be OK, since our car guys have always done right by us. So yay for free fixes!
**FCD **is going to a bike rally in Johnstown, PA for a couple of days at the end of the week. I really didn’t want to go, so I’m staying home and… doing something else. Depending on the weather, I’ll figure out how to kill a couple of days. At least part of the time, I’ll be taking down the curtains in the blue guest room and laundering them. They haven’t been washed since we bought them - at least 5 years ago, maybe more… I don’t do this domestic goddess thing very well.
Today’s big plan is to take our trash and recycling to the convenience center. Beyond that, dunno.
Happy Tuesday!!!
Apparently I cannot use the bathroom in my house without a furry committee to assist my efforts. Well, not to much assist - the cats come with me because they like to get a fresh-running drink when I turn the faucet to a very slow stream. But sometimes, they apparently just want skritches. Well, it’s not like I’m doing anything for the moment.
Higgs comes along because she doesn’t like to be alone. And, oddly, Ziva tolerates the dog in those very close quarters, going so far as to either meow at her in her tiny, little voice, or occasionally actually rub up against her!
When we have guests, we have to tell them to lock the bathroom door. Taz can and has opened the door to visit the occupant. He doesn’t like to be outside of any closed door, including cabinet in the kitchen and bathroom.
What do people without animals do for aggravation??
Hi all,
I’ve skimmed, but retained very little. Did retain the part where Rockin’ and somebody’s (sorry, I don’t remember) nieces share a birthday with my mom. She’ll be 90! (Still miss the old smiley.)
We’re leaving at 0 dark 30 tomorrow morning and will be in Mexico City by 10:00 a.m. or so, assuming no delays. Will be flying through Houston, so will wave at Rebo, mmmmmmmmmmmmm, and at** lieu’s** house.
This is our cooling off method. It’s the rainy season, so daily showers make sure the high temperature hovers around 70. So looking forward to that.
I’m in the process of doing laundry and getting ready for work. Wish I could have taken today off, but, instead I have major meetings to attend and lots to do in virtually no time. I’ll be back at work next Tuesday, so it’s not a huge deal.
sari, a procedure is generally medical speak for surgery. It can be something really little or something major.
Pretty butterfly, lieu. Swallowtail?
Hope you’re back on your feet shortly, Bobbio.
Will try to post from Mexico, but will be quite busy, since it’s a short visit and lots of family will be around for the occasion.
Hugs all.
GT
Nothing but blurf here, carry on.
Happy Toosday!
I can’t use the bathroom either, two idiots have been tying it up all morning.
Poor Sah-dog had to wait to go out, he was whining and dancing with his legs crossed at the door.
It’s a sunny 65 degrees outside. I feels hotter to me.
Today is laundry day, good thing as I’m down to my last pair of shorts.
Today is pizza day as well.
Outside of that, nothing special to do today.
GT I wondered what the difference was. I thought procedures were minimally invasive and surgeries were more invasive.
I know I am just being a big baby about all this. I just want for it to go away and not have to deal with it anymore.
Upon waking this morning and traveling into the living room I arrived upon a gruesome scene. Apparently mourning the death of his companion, Ginger, Fred the goldfish had leaped to his death sometime during the night.
Seriously, though, I never heard of a goldfish jumping out of their bowl.
Otherwise… Good morning! Lots to do today here.
I’ve had goldfish leap out of the bowl before Sticky
Although some of them may have had help from the cat.
Medical TMI to come. The vast majority of what I’m battling now is probably 50 lbs of IV fluid I need to shed. There’s not much to do except lay on your back, wait until the bladder complains, then go drain it. Sounds easy, but it is VERY tiring to go from horizontal to upright with all the extra weight. Realize this is also day #3 of the shedding process, and things are a lot easier than they were Sunday.
Yesterday, I had to spend a large portion of the morning getting my colon under control, and it was not pretty. Won’t say any more. The jaundice and associated liver issues should be done by now, but I don’t have any labs to back me.
I remember telling someone while waiting for the MRI that I will judge my recovery to be complete when I can mow my yard unassisted and with out a break. I’m keeping that standard; right now dragging a trash can down the driveway whips my ass.
Glad to hear you’re getting back to domesticity, Bob.
GT, someone else will need to butterfly ID for me. Happy southern trails.
New assistant just got a major dose of what it’s like to deal with some of our folks. I, bein’ the mentor that I am, sat back and observed as she dealt with this person. This is an eighty eight year old man, whom I like very much btw as he reminds me a lot of my own dearly departed father, who needed assistance in findin’ his last four paystubs. He needs those paystubs to show proof of income for his yearly low income housin’ assistance review. Of course, he had no clue how to get said paystubs. They can be found and printed out online but he did not know how. Turns out he never even registered with payroll to do this. Thus, this mornin’ he needed to be taken through the process.
I’m pretty adamant about people doin’ this stuff from themselves. One needs to register and set up a username and password. Obviously said username and password is for that person and that person alone to know. I don’t need to know. I don’t want to know. I will, however, guide someone through the process. Well, except this mornin’, I watched as new assistant guided him through the process. It took an hour for him to register and then print off the paystubs. I gotta give her props for her patience. She did a great job with him.
Thing is, yeah, she or I could have just done it for him and it would have been all over in ten minutes. However, as I said, I have a large thing for people doin’ stuff for themselves. Plus he needs a username and password he can remember or write down and put somewhere secure for later use because he will need to know this again at some point.
I have such a fun job!
gt have a safe trip and a great celebratin’ mom’s big 9-0!
bobbio glad you’re on the mend.
stickybuns ick! Sorry about the apparent goldfish suicide.
MOOOOOOM they worry! They want to make sure you don’t need “help” on the potty.
Higgs did something to her front left foot. Dunno what, but she came limping across the yard and she did not like either **FCD **or me looking at it too closely. Right now she’s licking on it, I assume with medicinal dog spit. There was no obvious blood or breakage, so we’ll just keep an eye on her and get her to the vet if necessary. She just may have whacked it when digging in the far end of the yard, or maybe something stung her. Watch and wait.
All of our trash and recycling has been dispatched, **FCD **has begun packing the camper for his trek to Johnstown on Thursday. He’s now in the basement, and I’ll head down there when my watering is done, since the timer is up here. I think after lunch I’ll do some clay stuff.
Higgs update - I just saw her chase Ziva, then walk back without limping. Is she just a puggy drama queen?? Idiot dog…
The house is still open, but I expect to be closing things up in very short order. Dammit.
