If we’re going to be coastal, better have backup power, reserve emergency supplies, etc., for hurricane season.
OMG! We forgot the clothing optional hot tub!
Howdy from da cave! I had to go deal with a local participant so made the executive decision to go to the sto’ and then to da cave afterwards. Anywho, dindin is made courtesy of the Harvey’s sto’. I’ll just reheat the vittles when OYKW gets here.
Spidey yay for free Doritos![sup] TM[/sup]
sari make sure the mowers are zero turn cause, well, they’re fun to drive. Seriously, once you get the hang of drivin’ one it makes mowin’ almost fun. I think moat monsters are self sustainin’. They pretty much will eat whoever we don’t want to let into Mumper Estates.
Just saw over on FB that my cousin with Teh Ghey that lives in Indiannoplace married the guy he’s been shacking up with for 25+ years. Conga Rats, Jeff!
Yay for cousin Jeff! Yay for BBBobbio post too!
Perhaps upon considering your recent hospital stay, he reflected upon the impermanence of life. On the other hand, maybe he wanted to be certain that you don’t come by and visit.
Y’all should consider the PNW for Mumper Estates. Four seasons, but not overly cold or warm during any season. Mountains galore, deserts, and oceans, all within relatively short drives.
Sooooo, fingers crossed everyone. The lawyer’s office called. We’re supposed be down there at three today to finally (FINALLY) close on MiL’s house. I won’t believe this portion of the nightmare is over until the money is in the estate account, but we appear to be one tiny step closer to closing out the estate.
Sorry, dude, he’s family. I even shake his hand and slap his back. His hubby’s too.
Thanks for the laughs today, my friends! I have to say, I LOVE the idea of a Mumpers Estate, and in fact would even move back east to live in it. I think it would be a cool place to live indeed, plus, Cottonfield County would even put me close to many relatives, including my closest cousin! It’s something to think about … well, right now, it was something that provided me with some laughter and definitely a big ole’ grin!
Thanks for the info on how the swamp cooler works, CP; the swamp cooler is not very efficient when the temps are in the high 90s, but we are cool enough with our fans going. And when it cools down after sunset, the cooler kicks back into high gear.
We (daughter and I) just returned from a visit to the local Walmart. LOL No, Swampy, we did not dress in the usual Walmart dress code, we were presentable. The grocery store section has really expanded their produce department. We’ll see how good the quality of the fruits and veggies is, though. They are closer to us than the Farmer’s Market, but the Farmer’s Market just has the best foods and the best prices. Walmart’s prices will beat even the Farmer’s Market, though, on certain things. I did get some cut-up watermelon, to see how it tastes. That’s my true test! LOL It’s good for me to get out and about, but whew, I am pooped now! We were going to the library tomorrow, but have pushed that back to Friday.
Prayers and good thoughts to all who are in need. And thanks for keeping my friend Michele in your thoughts and prayers.
Supper was very yum - meatloaf and smashed N.O.T. and succotash. I’s stuffded! The dishwasher is doing its thing and I’m about to recline and finish the patriotic afghan - it’s got red, white, and blue variegated stripes and solid red or white or blue stripes alternating. It’s nice and big and bright!
Yanno, I’ll be especially nice, dammit, and make sure each the residents of Mumper Estates has one of my epic afghans.
Dindin has been et. Not too shabby for sto’ boughten commestibles. OYKW has gone to his place, alas. He’s dealin’ with some paperirk stuff this evenin’ poor thing.
Will each one have been drooled on by Higgs, Taz, and Ziva?
Herbs you mean y’all fancied up to go to :eek:Wally*World:eek:?
Taters I could deal with the PNW. It’s purty there!
ETA: First on Four!
No, no, no. PNW is waaaaay too far away from the Rosebuds.
Oh, just remembered that amongst all the livestock, we forgot the chickins. We must have fresh aigs, after all (and rotten ones for throwing).
In other news- remember that strimmer I kept going on about, that I only just got working again? Some rotten bugger’s nicked it. I just went to cut the grass, and it’s gone. It’s been in my shed for over a year not working…
I really don’t have any money to replace it right now either- I’m down to doing little jobs for friends like a teenager for a bit of cash.
In future I shall remember to keep at least a platoon of PSWSLS in there.
**It worked!
It worked!!
It worked!!!**
I went to the sto, got milk, bread, & aigs, & cold stuff fell from the heavens!!!
Ummmm, hail counts, doesn’t it? :dubious:
Well, the East Coast is too far from MY kids. Besides, it’s damn pretty here. I love it here (well out in the boonies) not so much suburbia or the cities. There are too damn many people. I think I’d be damn good hermit.
So, it’s a done deal, and the sale should record tomorrow. We already have an appointment set up with the lawyer for a couple of weeks from now, so we can start paying MiL’s ourselves, the lawyer and MiL’s debts. I really hope we’re coming down the home stretch. The 5th of July marks a year since her death, and it’s been one long year.
I suppose I should start dinner.
Laundry is done. It rained, so there’s not any bird poop on the truck at the moment.
sari, NC does have some nice beaches. As a plus, the winters are too cold because of the Gulf Stream ,and the sea breezes make the summers milder.
Nut, yep, gotta have chickens. I get fresh aigs from a couple I know.
Hope the mess ends soo for you, Taters.
Herbs, you dress up for :eek:Wally World:eek:? Don’t you know that upsets the peasants?
swampy, don’t forget the extra helpings of pet hair.
The Bubster is sick. We’re at the emergency vet right now waiting for the blood test results to tell us what we do next. My poor little fragile boy.
How humid is it at 90F in New Mexico? I thought it was much warmer than that.
Donald Hamilton, author of the Matt Helm novels that satirized spy movies in films, is from New Mexico.

IT IS NOW TIME TO PANIC!
The movers have done what they do for a living and moved up our move date to tomorrow. They may need to work around us while we’re still packing.
