Beatle, I just wanted to say you’re awesome. I think it is so cool that you have taken it upon yourself to compile (and update!!) the list of SDMB members in the Master List thread. (this might belong in MPSIMS, and if so, sorry to Tuba!)

Hey CT, thanks. It’s really not a big deal. I’m probably good for another couple of pages (with the help of our earnest proofreaders) and then I’ll pass the mantle, along with the fairly simple Excel algorithm that strips out the user names, to the next SDMB service trooper.
Rory, it’s the thread titled Master List; sign on.
BTW, big threads like that make the system more prone to crashing . . . so . . . whatchawannadoaboutit?
I love a good story as much as anyone (and that’s a great thread), but it’s dangerous.

What are you telling me? Abandon the effort? That I can do. If compiling the users’ responses is mucking up the board, I’ll easily abandon the effort. Is that what is requested?

Don’t give up. Close the old one, post the last list of names in a new thread, and start over.
If necessary, archive the old thread.

I agree with Arnold. Although it was joked, when the list began, that it could beat the Guy Stuff thread for the longest thread record, I would hate to see it cause problems. Tuba, would you suggest that we start anew?

Tuba, I guess Now is as good a time as any. I don’t know if the length of it is creating havoc and chaos, but it seems to be getting a little goofy.
