OhdearGod, they give her a lesser sentance after driving around in her car with them…because she is too stupid to know any better?..I weep for those children.

Well, without wanting to unleash a hurricane of scorn upon my head… I agree with the judge. Lethal stupidity doesn’t equal first degree murder, nor does panicking after the fact when she realized that she was responsible for their deaths.
I’m not defending her, I’m just not going to allow my horror of what she did make me believe she should be treated as though it was ever her intention to do it.
The world is filled with stupid people. It’s a damn shame, and often there are horrible consequences because of it. But what are you going to do, make it a crime to be an idiot?

I don’t know about calling it involuntary manslaughter. I would think negligent homicide at the very, very least. I just want to know that the child she is pregnant with now will be taken away from her so that she can’t do anything to him/her.

Um, Tuckerfan, the use of the word ‘cunt’ to describe a person really offends me. This person may well need to be sterilised, she may well be terminally stupid, but… (and maybe it’s just my personal bias) but calling her a 'cunt ’ seems uncalled for.

Seems perfectly called for to me. Not politically correct, perhaps, but called for. So you are offended by reducing a person (in this case a female) to one of her parts? Hell, guys call each other pricks all the time. Individually we may be offended if we are the target of the epithet, but the insult is not directed at the entire sex, only to one individual who deserves the insult. Try not to take it personally, hmmm? :rolleyes:
By the way, putz, dork, dick (small “d”) and schmuck are all interchangeable with prick, and are equally useful in guy to guy insulting. Guys don’t get insulted when a woman calls another guy a prick either. We may even think she’s right.

Panicking? Ok, she didn’t think they’d be hurt. Once she saw they had been-what sort of panick would make you drive around with your children in the car instead of taking them directly to a hospital on the slim chance they might still be saved? Maybe they could have been, do we know if they were already dead when she can back? Did she know?
I can’t imagine not taking that chance, however slim, unless you were more concerned about being blamed than saving their lives.

It’s not first degree murder but it’s not involutary anything.
She needs to be given the option of jail time or voluntary sterilization. (The ACLU can kiss my ass.) She’s not a malicious killer; she’s simply dumber than a doorknob. Even had her children lived, she’s proven she’s too dumb to raise children. Because, of course, you shouldn’t leave a toddler and an infant unsupervised for 4 hours EVER, let alone in an 150 degree car.
Actually, I can believe this woman when she says she was panicing… She wasn’t panicing for them, but for herself. She may have been filled with horror, too, but I suspect that her main panic was “I’ve killed my children. What will happen to ME? How will I get out of this?! I know! I’ll lie! A big, fat rape lie! People will feel sorry for me…”
All I really want is for this woman to never have another child, and that she be kept away from sane society. I’d like to visit some horror on her, too, but that’s not really necessary… It would only be vengance for my horror at contemplating what she’s done.
When she delivers the child she’s currently incubating, I hope and pray that there be a lengthy line of willing adoptive parents waiting…
I personally think she knew exactly what she was doing. I’m sickened by this judges decision. I think she was tired of having kids and wanted to be rid of them.

I believe I saw reference in one article to a coroner’s estimation that the children died within the first half-hour of being left in the car. That seems about right – it doesn’t take long for the temperature in a closed vehicle to rise well over a hundred degrees Fahrenheit, and exposure to that kind of heat without fresh air or water for children that age would result in death pretty quickly.
To many (not all!) women cunt is the worst thing you could ever call her - on par with the n-word.
Given that she left two children to roast to death, I would say that coming up with the worst possible epithet is entirely the point.
There isn’t a punishment strong enough for this woman.
My apologies if I’ve offended anyone, but quite frankly, I don’t think that the biological unit which is the subject of the OP rates as a human being. Humans are defined by their actions, not DNA, IMHO, and allowing two children to die in a car removes one from the realm of humanity. (The ape that scooped up the two year old and rushed him to the zookeepers has more right to be called human than the Sack-O-Shit[sup]TM[/sup] that killed her kids.)

I’m with Zette here. There is no way that she didn’t know what she was doing to those babies.
Y’know, I taught special ed for 10 years. I dealt with some pretty low-functioning kids…kids who couldn’t give you correct change for a dollar if their lives depended on it, kids who will need help all of their lives because they are just not smart enough to manage on their own. This woman is an absolute insult to anyone who truly has an impairment, and I’m not buying the “I was too stupid to know better” excuse until I see an IQ test completed BEFORE the killings, and said IQ is somewhere in the Moderate-Profound range.
I can’t find it in my stony little heart to even be somewhat empathetic for her, and that is saying a lot for me. I don’t quite advocate an eye-for-an-eye justice yet, but I sure do think some people deserve the death penalty, and she is right at the top of my list.
