I like the commentary from Tom Petty’s “It’s Good To Be King”
Beavis: So how come Tom Petty’s on TV
Butthead: Uh, because he’s famous
Beavis: So how did he get famous?
Butthead: Because he’s on TV!
Beavis: Yeah, but then how did he get on TV?
Butthead: Because he’s famous, buttknocker! Now shut up, dumbass!
I found out that MTV2 airs it at midnight and 12:30 am on week nights, so I am so there, dude.
What about the time they were watching Snoop Dog’s “Gin and Juice”, and Beavis kept saying he was a gangsta from Compton.
The bf bought this after I told him it wasn’t worth $25, but he had to have it.
He watched it for about 15 minutes before he realized how bad that show actually was. And there aren’t that many music videos, I think only like a dozen.
There’s a bit inside about how Mike Judge didn’t like about 1/3rd of the show, so they’re never putting that out on DVD. There will be two boxed sets of the episodes that he thought were the better ones.
This show has not aged well at all. It was funny when I was in middle school. If you want to watch it as an adult, I recommend alcohol or other substances that make otherwise mildly amusing things become hilariously funny. YMMV.
B & B are watching Shoop, by Salt N Pepa. At one point, a male appears in the video, and one of the group sings, “Check him out, y’all…he’s the hottest brother in here.”
Cut to Butthead, who says, “He’s the only brother in there.”
What about the video where the guy was running around on fire, and Beavis went into this weird, tantric trance, and just sat there, his eyes glazed over saying, “yeeeaaaaahhhhh”…over and over and over. Until Butthead finally slapped the shit out of him.
