Because if I wait, i'll forget - the MMP

I think I am done with the 15 hour days this week. Hockey Saturday.

{{{{{{Shadow}}}}}} I hate asthma attacks

{{{{{{{kanga}}}}}}} I’d hold your hand if you were closer.

Happy Birthday gt!!!
: waves at catdude :

Fiat, you should have used the Hungarian translation: “Please fondle my buttocks.” ;)

Asthma sucks big moss encrusted rocks, Shadow. I’ve only ever wheezed during a chest cold, never had a full on attack, but I still know that.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 38 degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of only 65. BRRR! Reckon I need mah long johns?

gotti yay for scheduled surgeries and ummm whatever that is DH is havin’ done. Double yay for gettin’ 'em in before the start of the new year.

{{{Shadow}}} I’ve never had problems with asthma but know people who do and it’s rough.

Now I must seek out more caffiene. Also, rumbly tummy has gotten very demandin’ to be fed just now. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

To all the Mumper Veterans, HAPPY VETERAN’S DAY!!!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, off to irk.

Stuff I forgot: Cool cool artwork, FCM and shortdrum. I love the penguin. I think it looks fine speckled in the picture, even if it’s not what you intended. How did you make the rose, shortdrum?

Yay on the accelerated surgery, gotti! The differences between your insurers are incredible. Is there a way you can complain to your employer? They sponsor the plan, so they (in theory) agreed to the benefits. Has there been a change in the way they select coverage? (I’m sure it’s hard to find out in a large corporation, but maybe you know someone who knows someone who would know?)

Sorry about the asthma attack, Shadow. That sounds awful.

Thanks for the additional birthday wishes!

Am up in hope of getting a lot of things done today.

Hugs all!

GT

Well, I must say, I didn’t need to start my day with a mental image of **swampy **in red flannels with a seat flap. That’s almost worst than nekkid bacon fryin’ in a frilly apron. :stuck_out_tongue:

**FCD **is still abed, but he’s a veteran, so he’s allowed. Of course, I’m a veteran, too, but I’m awake. What ya gonna do?? The critters have been tended to, except I still need to scoop the cat box, and while it’s 39°, it’s sunny so far. It’s supposed to be really windy today - wonder how many more leaves will be shaken loose?

Not sure what our plans for the day are - **FCD **wants to drill some holes in an old aquarium to make a new sump. I’d like to have some clay time. Plus I have a poke loin that needs to be cut up into “chops” and a roast. I may go buy another while they’re on sale - we like poke.

Sympathies to the assorted sickies and pre-surgicals. Maybe we should all dress in scrubs out of solidarity?

And I guess that’s all so far this morning. Happy Firday, and Happy Veteran’s Day to my fellow vets!

I have no idea why you chose those particular two people to practice your Spanish with, but I’d like to apologize for womanhood everywhere. Nits picked below; alternatives below the picked nits.

“Perdóname, no. Éste es un café y ésta un agua caliente.”
Also, “perdón, pero no.” I know you know how to say cofee and hot water and were using English for the benefit of those two, but the gender coordinates with the liquid, not with whatever the liquid is in.

“¿Tres dólares? ¿Por café y agua caliente?”
You can’t count “moneys” - you can count dollars or euros but not “moneys”.

Happy belated birthday, GT. Todos los santos tienen novena, y tal...

I’m suffering so, so terribly. Monday I lazied about and took a walk around Parque del Retiro; Tuesday I lazied about; Wednesday I went to Toledo, which I’d visited with Mom but there were some things we’d skipped that I wanted to see, and I bought a decorative thing to cover the lightsbox in my house and saw El Greco’s museum; yesterday I had lunch with my coworkers from the horrid job I had in August and September; today I was going to go downtown to Sephora for some food-smelling bath-things and other basic creams and then come back walking, enter El Prado and spend the morning there, but after leaving Sephora I got a beep-beep signaling a missed call. One of the agents I’d contacted this week may have something; since he needed to be able to reach me, I figured I’d leave El Prado for tomorrow. May have a phone interview this afternoon and one in person next week. It wouldn’t be in Madrid, but it’s still in Spain and in a place which has good transportation to “back home”.

I’m sure Goya’s Majas are missing me terribly. I haven’t taken the food-smelling things out of the bag, if I’m going to be moving again they’re better wrapped up.

Nava you want your bath to smell like food? The neighbors will wonder if you’re takin’ a bath or makin’ supper.

Happy Veteran’s Day, and Happy Firday!

I like your penguin just the way it is, Moommm. It’s cute! All your stuff is awesome, and so is yours, shortdrum!

I got a card last night from my cousin. She sent me a hug! Such a sweetie. When I was in San Angelo, somehow we determined that I needed a hug every 15 minutes, and she was always there to give me one. I’m gonna call her later.

{{{Rebo}}}

Now everybody else get busy and send Rebo a hug. I declare today to be Hug Rebo day.

Also, I’m bored and this amuses me. So, get busy!

Ow, ow, ow… my head hurts. I think I need emergency caffeine for my fiendish self.
Many hugs to all who needs 'em. Extra ‘special’ hugs to those who bear coffee.

Gnnaarrr! GT. That darned tea kettle is way too green. Like a Kermit Transformer when it was supposed to be bluish green. It’s going back, along with it’s twin. You heard right, Amazon mailed me the same thing twice and now I have to lug the kettles and extra calender to the post office.

Would someone mind sending some snow down here? It’s a grey, blerky, no-weather SoCal day. I want snow crunching under my feet and puppies jumping through drifts, and all that good stuff. You can keep the black ice and wet freezy socks, 'cause I’m nice that way.

:grumble: too early, etc.

My 4yo son comes up at 6.30 this morning. I’m sorta waken up by the thumping as he runs up the stairs.

Then silence.

Finally I hear an almost inaudible creak as he opens the door to the bedroom. I hear him slowly walking over to the foot of the bed. I’m still mostly asleep.

Silence.

More silence

More silence.

Suddenly:

MOOOOOOMMMMMM!

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!

Pause for a moment.

**IT’S MORNING!

WAKE UP!

WAAAAAAAKE UUUUUPPP!

CAN I HAVE A BOWL OF CEREAL?

WAKE UP!**

So I got up early on the day I really, really needed to sleep in. Im gonna have to take a nap or two today.

Nava, I chose to try out my atrocious Spanish on some complete stranger because, basically, I need to get comfortable speaking it. My Spanish class is made up of middle aged men and women, most of whom work and have kids, and so far I haven’t found anyone to form study groups with. I’ve joined the college Spanish club (am I a nerd, or what…), and have tried unsuccessfully to start a study group through them. El presidente (la presidenta?) of the Spanish club is a stuck-up, worthless bitch who doesn’t listen to her constituents. I’ve asked my instructor to pass along a message.[/rant]

Anyway. Hope you all are having a good day. It’s about 34[sup]o[/sup]f out, and here in the valley we are socked in with thick, soupy fog. A good day to stay at home doing nothing! I hope you all can do the same!

Ashes[sup]2[/sup], In light of the fact that I have no snow to share, I would be more than happy to share the maple leaves, fir needles and pine cones that are all over my yard. Just let me know if you want a bag or three.

Ima put up the “No Snow” signs. Do not send any of that icky stuff down heah!

I found a picture of a rose and printed it out. Then I put it over my clay and used the back of a paint brush to gently trace the lines. Then I removed the paper and gently deepened some lines. Then I colored it in with embossing powder.

It was one of my best sleep deprived ideas (those strange ideas you get at 4am when you haven’t slept in 36 hours). I used the same technique to make the Commander Vimes city watch badge magnet for Sweetie and last night I made Spongebob for my niece. I do have a color issue though. Spongebob is gold, his shirt is silver and his pants and shoes are bronze. I have no yellow, white, or black powder. I finally found some black powder but it doesn’t stick to the clay so I need to search some more.

Gotta bring Sweetie to work today. He has a show in North Adams tomorrow (crew call at 6am!) so he’s driving the production truck there and spending the night in a hotel. Lucky me, I get the car!! Actually, I get the car until Tuesday because he has shows on Monday and Tuesday too. SWEET!
Today my mother gets a Veteran’s Day treat - she gets to have a sleepover with me. She always says that it doesn’t feel right calling herself a Veteran because all she did was travel with the band. I told her that not everyone fights in the Army and even the people who sort the mail (something else she did) are still Veterans. Besides, she was in the Bicentennial band and that’s just cool. She did dig out her discharge papers just once - to get a veteran’s discount on a pair of cemetery plots at the cemetery she’s always wanted to be buried in. Strange mumsey have I.

I’m so close to catching up on my reading. I did 2 of the 4 chapters I need to read for government but I got hung up when I saw that the title of the 3rd chapter was Bureaucracy. I just couldn’t deal with THAT at 9pm so I gave up and read 2 chapters of History instead.
On proofreading, I see that I had a massive amount of extraneous apostrophes. The Horror! I think I got them all. Please don’t hold it against me if I didn’t.

HAPPY VETERAN’S DAY TO ALL OUR MUMPER VETS!!!

Thanks, {{{Swampbear}}}!

{{{Rebo}}}

Back from a few morning errands. I need to get motivated or something. Or cake - I might need some cake.

On to the kitchen to do dishes and cut up the poke loin.

It’s about 35 degrees here and we’re facing the first of our regular November wet and windy storms. It’s supposed to blow in this afternoon, although the winds should pick up this morning. Our weather is predicted to be unstable all this weekend and next week. High temps will be in the 40s.

Yup, November is here.

I’m probably going to have a fairly easy day. I’m just going to do some stuff around the house and call it good. I’ve got chicken breasts defrosting for dinner tonight.

Hugs to those who need them.

Let them eat cake MOOOOOM!

I can haz weekend?

I fully approve of the hug-every-15-minutes idea.

{{{{{{{{{rebo}}}}}}}}}}}

I never got shot at either, but I did get to stand on the flight deck and watch them blow stuff up in the distance, so technically, I’m a veteran.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{GT}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Next!

Seems like the next 15 minutes are about up.** {{{{{Rebo}}}}}** And hugs for everyone else as well. Especially Bumba.

I’ve spent the morning avoiding raking, which means of course that as soon as I was motivated, the vacuum truck was across the street. Fortunately it apparently went around the block to turn around because I had enough time to add a bunch of leaves to the pre- existing pile. The rest will either go with the yard waste on Monday or be compost.

I’ve imported a bunch of CDs into iTunes so that I can add them to my iPad. I’m stocking up for December, when I’ll be out of town for almost 3 weeks.

Also set up my Pandora app, which is really nifty.

Next, I’ma edit some pictures because I need to upload some to Facebook and also to the iPad.

But first I think I’ll go out for a bit.

Extra hugs!
