I mostly slept in till 8, wondering when I woke up why the dog wasn’t barking yet. Turns out she barked around 3, and **FCD **took her out. Since then she’s been crashed out on our bedroom floor. Weird little dog…
The only thing I know for sure that will happen today is the aquarium water change. We’ll figure out the rest as we go along. I started knitting a sweater for daughter - actually started it twice. The first time was in wool, but when I hit 3 bad spots in a row (3 of the 4 plies were split) I decided I wasn’t going to risk making the while thing if there were problems in the other skeins. This is yarn that was given to me and I don’t know how old it is or how it was stored - now I fear the worst.
But I have plenty of the other yarn that I’ve decided to use and I think she’ll like the rather random approach I’m taking with it. Three colors, striped, but not in a regular pattern. Some will be narrow, some wide, and there will be no symmetry. It’ll drive **FCD **crazy, but I think my daughter will like it. I know she’ll like the colors since she picked them for another project. Hope I can get it done for Christmas.
Time for breakfast - gotta see if my sweetie wants to go out or if we’ll raid the pantry.
I am a redhead now. I finally gave in and decided to cover my grey hair (I am only 34 fercryinoutloud!) so I when I go my haircut yesterday I went a couple of shades darker than my regular colour with lots of red undertones in there. It looks great. I am kinda pale skinned and I have green eyes so I look very celtic. mr ems loves it! This combined with my slutty pink coloured toenails from yesterday’s pedicure and I had a total girly day. Loved it - I feel so much better and a bit more like myself after the past two months since surgery.
Ron White was pretty funny last night. mr ems greatly appreciated his early Christmas present. I am now jsut waiting on sleepy head to wake up and take me to breakfast as I am starvink!
I had a do nothing day yesterday. Seriously, I read my Kindle all day long and my husband cooked both an appetizer AND dinner. I didn’t have to help at all.
He was cooking recipes out of the Paula Deen cookbook he ordered. Anyway, he did well and the best part was that I didn’t have to any of the cooking or even the shopping for the ingredients.
Today, I will have to redeem myself and do something productive.
I did tons of errands yesterday. Funny what a difference getting enough air makes! You see, my doctor doesn’t think I have asthma. Luckily for me, the asthma clinic disagrees and has put me back on Qvar, which is basically a miracle drug as far as I’m concerned. I have more energy, I can move without stopping to catch my breath for hours instead of minutes, and I sleep easier at night. Also, I can breathe.
Today is stay at home and laze around the house day.
Today is a homework and clay day…just like pretty much every other day. I’m working on 100 little yellow and brown paw print magnets for my trainer. I also HAVE to do my history homework before 11:30 tonight. Speaking of history, I finally got my midterm grade. I got full credit!!! Of course I also got a 0 on the quiz from last week. Apparently I turned stupid as I was submitting it. I remember typing the response in word but I suspect that when I finished typing it, I forgot to actually copy and past it into the quiz window before submitting. Oops. :smack:
My mom gave me a ring yesterday. She bought it from a pawn shop years ago because it reminded her of me. It has 3 fairly large garnets (my birthstone) on it. She never wore it and just held on to it for years until she had the opportunity to give it to me.
Our trash and recycling has gone to the convenience center. The old computers and associated stuff has gone to a friend who does computer stuff. I also gave him a FORTRAN book that I found when I was cleaning up - he got a laugh out of it. He’s a former coworker, so I was getting some of the dirt on the goings-on. I am a bit pissed to find out that they had a going -away for the kid who I sat next to and no one invited me.
Except for making supper, our chores for the day are done. Shortly, I will be assuming the knit position. I foresee a chill day.
My birthstone is garnet also! I have several rings and necklaces, but since I pretty much never wear jewelry, I’m not sure what I’ll do with them all. They’re probably not worth much if I was to sell them.

1/23, so Aquarius, not that it means anything to me… I’m more amused that it’s 1/23/54 - had I been born 9 years earlier… well, my mom would have been 11, and that would have been creepy.
Breakfasted (really late but we ate it!) then a run to Sam’s and mr ems is now vacuum sealing a whole bunch of chicken breasts and carving a a whole thing of meat into rib-eye steaks.
I will be going to Target in a bit then the rest of the day will be doing nothing but being lazy. Good weekend this weekend.
I am headed to Arkansas tomorrow. Really looking forward to that drive.
In other news I got the paperwork from the title company in CA for me to get notarised tomorrow then we should be closing on the Short Sale on Wednesday! I will no longer be a homeowner! Yay!
