Beck wants to bend your ear, alittle.

How are we all doing? I had an electrical outtage due to weather. Were all back up and running now.

Still a houseful of virus refugees. We’re eating good. No one is sick.
As far as I can tell no one is homicidal yet.

Laundry is a bitch. But the Siamese appreciate that aspect. They’re ‘almost’ hsppy campers.

My veg-garden is all planted. Tomatoes are still in the cold frame. Maybe one more week.

I’m walking twice a day to build up. I’ve been a lazy butt too long.

Anyone come in and tell your stories of daily life, during your sheltering in place. I love to peek into your lives. It’s endlessly entertaining to me.
Sad? Yeah, but who cares? Tell me anyway.

b.

Hum. One after Nine Twenty Five?

I’m sure you’ve heard it all (or maybe half) before. Nothing to say. Full Duplex is highly under-rated.

I saw that movie just a couple weeks ago. Hard to believe it’s been over thirty years since it came out. I still count it as one of my favorite comedies. Genghis Khan in the sporting goods store still cracks me up.

Party on, dudes!!!

We’ve had a scrabble tourney. It’s been interesting.
One person who knows several languages. One smart ass. One with a high vocab. Several who don’t take criticism well.
And a ban on dictionary use.

Makes for big arguments.

Of course, I always win.

b. spelling like a boss!

if you see a thread of someone struggling, slip in there with encouragement

My Quar life is essentially the same as my pre-Quar life. Been working all along, sometimes a lot of overtime. A little more sanitizing of the hands and household. A few things I can’t find on my weekly or bi-weekly shopping trips. I’m a solitary person by nature. More of same.
Ha! It snowed here yesterday and today. That’s unusual at this time of year. There’s some accumulation on the grass and vegetation but not on roads or driveways.

Did we get answers? Anyone else MIA?

**Nava ** came in. Not sure about Ambivalid.

AnnieXmas is missing. But I think hers is computer related.

I’m missing my weekly scrabble game with a neighbor.

I suggested that we might find an online play-scrabble-with-somebody site; but don’t know whether she’ll be interested in that. Not quite the same thing in any case.

Hope so. She works retail.

– one of the libraries around here says that their WiFi is up and running so that people can use it out in the parking lot. But you’d still need to have a device to use it on; and I don’t know either whether Annie does, or whether a library she can get to is doing that.

– hey, the sun just came out! And I think last night’s snow has all melted.

Some schools in Little Rock have routers on school buses that they take to areas where several students live.

We’re still coping.
Mid-daughter runs a tight ship. Kitchen and cleaning duties are square on her shoulders. She’s been delegating chores.
She’s a great helper. Couldn’t have done all this w/o her and DIL.

Grand-wreks have been endlessly entertaining. I’m so happy to have them around. Slime monsters that they are!

The Siamese have settled into a routine and are being good (ish).
The biggest problem with pets is Mid-daughter Chihuahuas. I hate those little shits. They remind of those tiny dinosaurs on Jurassic Park.

We’re doing okay.

Do you play the version of Scrabble where you can substitute letters? When it’s your turn, you can replace letters on the board with ones that you have on your rack. However, it still has to make a real word with each substitution.

Exciting times at FairyChatEstates. Yesterday, my SIL and I emptied the attic over the garage, sorted stuff out, send a load to the dump (he took it), made a big pile of stuff for the thrift store, and brought some things into the house. Then he put the remaining bits back in the attic. I’ve got a load of books I’d forgotten about and they’re all shelved, awaiting re-reading.

In other news, one of the boxes held assorted stuff, including the recorder I bought 50-some years ago. Roxy found it, and marched around the house tooting it. I’ve since taken it back. Once can only take so much! I also found the company picture from when I was in bootcamp - summer of '73. OMG, was I really that young??

Then my daughter, who used to live in Orlando, wanted to see where the base used to be - you can find anything online! I had no idea - they bussed us from the airport to the base, then from the base to the airport. Anyway, she knew the neighborhood. From the satellite photo, everything from back then is long gone.

Other than that, occasional treks to get groceries, yard work when the weather cooperates, laundry, cooking, vacuuming - it’s a veritable tornado of activity! But don’t come over - you have to take my word for it!

HELP!,
DIL and Son-of-a-wrek and grandwreks are here everyday. No school, no working. What else are they gonna do? It’s all my fault. They can’t see their friends. Because of me we are taking the quarantine literally. No secondary transfer of germs. DIL is the only one going to town for supplies. We are being very careful when she comes back.

So…since they are here they may as well stay for meals and game playing. I have better TV service (direcTV). And, most importantly all the booze.

My problem, exactly is DILs casseroles. She has went waaaaayyyy down a rabbit hole. Tonight’s casserole was something with corn, cauliflower and ham bits in a white over-cheesed sauce. Never thought I’d ever say: over-cheesed pertaining to food.

She named it. But, I’ll be damned if I can remember the name. Mid-daughter sez she flat-foot made that up.

We’re thinking we might need to intervene. Steal and hide her casseroles dishes. Maybe there’s a 12 step program out there. Oh, crap she couldn’t go because of social distancing.

Surprisingly, it was all eaten. (;)) no leftovers.
I think the lil’wrekker and Hamza took(snuck) the leftovers to the dog kennel. I heard howling after supper. Poor beagles.

I think if I can call up the names of some of her more successful casseroles and just request them we’ll not be subjected to the ones she pulls out of her butt.

Yeah! That sounds like a plan.

Wish me luck.

Are you talking about UpWords? That’s fun!

Beck, avoid all casseroles. Casserole-givers are well-meaning, but I’ve never met a casserole that was any good. Might I suggest cottage pies, shepherd’s pies, or a steak and Guinness pie? Much more tasty, and with less preparation than a casserole requires.

These dishes are easy enough, and might teach DIL that casseroles are not the answer to feeding a group of people.

Good luck! And I think technically burritos and lasagna qualify as “casseroles”

Call SPCAES.

Luck.

Suggestion: you and DIL and the two Wrek-Daughters sit down at the table together and come up with a month of meals. (Please, Gawd, you won’t need them all!)

Then you can gently remove the crown from the Casserole Queen.

You will also bestow your wisdom and recipes to the next generation! (looks at Li’l Wrekker)

You have the best knowledge of what you’ve got stored at Chez Wrek. And you know what conforms to your Diabetic needs.

We’ll call it a bonding experience!

We’re talking corn dogs here.
