Beckdawrek makes a bad, bad, bad list.

I wrote a list for DIL to pick up for me at Wally world.
I’ve decided in my quest for a better protein drink I’d make my own. I have a blender. Somewhere.

List:
Bananas
1 large tub low-sugar Vanilla yogurt
2%milk
High protein version of Carnation Instant breakfast (chocolate, please)
Grape nuts cereal (I know, weird)
A shaker cup with the shaker ball.( I showed her a pix of this item)

Here’s what she came back with:
No bananas, all green
Several small cups of vanilla greek yogurt
2%milk (got that right)
Regular Carnation instant breakfast, mixed flavors.
No grape nuts, seems youngest grandwrek pulled a tantrum on the cereal aisle. Grape nuts weren’t that important, I guess.
Couldn’t find a Shaker cup.

:smack:
I love my DIL. She has proven herself worthy in lots of ways. She tends me like a Mother hen. And is always on call.

But, the girl can’t shop. At. All.

It is only my humble opinion, but I believe Grape Nuts SUP [/SUP] are over rated.

You know you can buy lots of groceries and other stuff at walmart.com? Minimum $35 order. So for example that site has Grape Nuts, Carnation Instant Breakfast (high protein), Shaker cup with ball.

That would be too logical for my life. UPS rarely delivers to my house. My rural mailbox is far away from my door.
I just sent a list with her because she was going anyway. We’re always picking up for each other.

What, no corndogs?

Can you order online and have DIL pick up your order at the store?

Looks like our Walmart will be providing that service soon.

Corndogs from Sonic were delivered. She dared not get that wrong

Even though you live outside their delivery zone, you should be able to order online and have your DIL swing by to pick up the order. I think all Walmarts do this now.

Suggestion: freeze banana slices to make a thicker shake. If you have a blender, you don’t even need a shaker thingie.

“You go into the store and buy Grape Nuts. No grapes; no nuts. What’s the story here?” - Jerry Seinfeld

Grape nuts are a good yogurt topping. I’m thinking they’ll up the protein in my drink things. If I can spare the carbs.

I like the frozen banana thing, Nellie.

If they put the arm on you for dialysis, you can kiss the bananas goodby. (too much potassium). Other things that will go away are tomatoes and Cola–phosphorus. Neither get stripped out by dialysis, and you will get weekly reminders to nix them.

The good news is they will prescribe a phosphorus blocker. The bad news is that the pills are huge.

No cola in my house. Bananas aren’t my fave. I like em but I won’t cry over that. Now tomatoes are gonna kill me.

I’m on dialysis and take blockers. My pills aren’t any larger than your average pill. Very easy to swallow. In fact, it’s about the same size as my cholesterol pill, and I take both at the same time.

Yeah, no potassium or phosphorus. Or sodium. Or too much protein. Or carbs. Kidney problems are a bitch.

Not grapenuts! They’ll turn the whole thing into gooey sewage.

Arkansas corndog argument leads to death.

I like grape nuts as a topping. I agree it would be too much yuk if blended in. Wallpaper paste is not good eatin’
I made my first smoothie protein drink, this morning. I liked it. I’m afraid it may have been more of a dessert than meal replacement.
Here’s my recipe:
Cup of greek yogurt
1/2 frosen banana
Scoop vanilla icecream (I know, I know, my sugar was low;))
Pkt of Carnation instant breakfast
1/2 cup of 2% milk
(I added a squeeze of chocolate syrup, coz I can;))
It was tasty. Plain yogurt would’ve been better.

Ouch!

WallyWorld has frozen banana slices in the frozen food section.

Talk tp me about this aversion to Greek yogurt, Beck. What difference do you detect between Greek and not-Greek? And how can you tell in a smoothie?
