Middledaughter, 2 rambunctious boys, 2 yappy-ass Chihuahuas,(OM freaking G. It’s breaking my sound ordinance.) came for the long weekend.
They rolled in about 1am. Of course the house got up. We were eating by 2am. The boys finally conked out. Dau. needed a shower at 3am. (?). Me and the lil’wrekker cleaned up the kitchen while she did that. Tried to keep the stupid Yappers from barking making my 2 bark, bark, bark. Bad, bad, bad!
The lil’wrekker put her headphones and went to bed. Finally Dau.got the boys in beds and the dogs in their crate. Then she wanted to talk, talk, talk. Bad, bad, bad.
I looked up it’s 5am. Holy crap. I was about to fall over. In the distance I heard a buzzing. Mr.Wrekkers alarm. I’m saved. I put his coffee on. And leave Dau. yammering her head off and looking for breakfast stuff. I head up stairs and pass Mr.Wrekker in the hall. He looked at me hungrily( no, not that way, you have a dirty mind). I told him his Middle Daughter was cooking his breakfast. I fell on the bed sideways. Instantly I’m asleep.
I dreamed of a Merle Haggard song. (Something about ‘ramblin’)
BTW, the Cats are not amused by this whole situation.
Family are precious and dear. What I love about mine, there are no compunctions about telling you we’re not staying up to chat if you arrive in the middle of the night. You’re family, you’re home, you know where stuff is, welcome hugs kisses all around, keep the dogs quiet, night, see you in the morning.
Luckily today they took all the kiddies to swim park. Nana rested and watched football. They are here now gearing up for supper. I cooked chicken and dumplings. They can serve it. Baby birds with their mouths open. Jeez!
I bet your sense of time is messed up now. Hopefully you get to sleep tonight.
I love dogs, but I love chihuahuas a little less than other breeds. They’re generally loyal to their person and snippy-snappy toward everyone else, and they’re so high-strung, they’r easily sent into Yap Overdrive. I had friends with a couple of chihuahuas visit me last month and was cautioned not to try to pet them. (The dogs, not the friends.) The dogs looked at me with that suspicious little squint chihuahuas sometimes get, and I could tell they were deciding which of my fingers to shorten if I made a wrong move.
How long are you to be blessed with their presence?
They’ll leave early Monday. Tomorrow is the big cook out. Son-of-a-wrek is hosting at his house. It should be a large time for all!
These yapper-pups are used to kids and have been here many times. I know that ‘squint’ you speak of.
The cats are dubious as to my sanity, why I let these yappy things in their abode.
Wow. Big pot of Chicken and Dumplings. Devoured. I had corn, chopped salad and rolls. A couple of tiny people might get a meal out of what is left.
Lets see, I spent $163.00 on groceries yesterday. Not including the list Son-of-a-wrek needed for tomorrow. He used my debit card on that. Not seen that receipt yet.
I fed 3 grown men, the lil’wrekker and her boyfriend, DIL and Dau. 4 kids, myself. Maybe I should of bought more food.
They’re already planning breakfast. DIL, of course, has a breakfast casserole she can make. She just needs ALL the ingredients. She’s scanning my fridge now. That girl has a casserole for every occasion.
I’m so freakin’ sleepy I don’t care what they do. The kiddies are wiped out and quiet. I predict early nights for all.
The Cats are giving me the stink-eye it’s getting close to their snack time and little dogs are moving around. They are not happy.
Let me tell you this. Son-of-a-wrek bought a whole ham (I bet that set me back a few bucks!). He’s frying it in his Turkey fryer. He’s a good Turkey fryer. But, I’ve never heard of this. I havn’t Googled it. I think he’s cuckoo and dreamed this up in a drunken haze. That boy astounds me with the stuff he comes up with. We shall see.
DIL is supervising the festivities. She sent me to bed. I was bit shaky this this morning.
I’m not sure what all they’re cooking.
It’s gonna be a crowd here. My bunch and some folks Son-of-a-wrek works with and their families. Kids are running allover the place.
I feel better but I like laying in the bed listening to them do all this stuff. That and I’m a lazy-ass.
The oldest granddaughter was able to coax my Cats off the beams with treats. It was so cute. She told all the kids to be quiet and still. And she got them down. It was amazing. She told all the kids someday they might be able to do the same if they’re quiet and gentle. I used to tell her that.
She’ll be a good cat Mom to her new kitten.
DIL, indeed, is bossy. But she has really stepped up to help me in many ways. MidDau. commented on it. She doesn’t see us as much and she was pleasantly surprised how much I’ve let DIL take over.
I’m just not able to do like I used to.
The Fried ham was very good. If a bit spicy for my tastes.
