Beck's in the Pit. Oh, my! (Virtual bad, bad, bad protest!)

Mine would say:

MAKE AMERICAN GREAT AGAIN

TRASH THE DUMPSTER

with the S’s as swastikas.

My Son has a red ballcap with A.G.A.M. in white block letters.
He says it means something cool. But he won’t tell me.
I’ve been making guesses.
So far, I’ve been wrong.

I’m pretty sure the ‘M’ stands for 'moron

Any ideas?

I thought this was a pit thread? Oh, wait, you’re the one who gets away with writing whatever the fuck she wants wherever she wants and gets special privileges with thread titles.

Seriously, get a fucking blog.

Fuck you.

How’s that?

Lame.

Since Beck has decided to make a Pit thread I’ll add to the crowd who wish that she would quarantine herself to just 1 “Beckdareck’s fucking annoying stuff” thread.

What, not getting enough attention in the kitty cuddler forum? This thread is nothing but “Look at me, look at me”.

Also, gimmicks are always pathetic.

Come on people. My shit ain’t annoying.
Oh…wait. Maybe it is.

Too bad. I’m gonna post it til some Mod or the PTB tell me to stop.

I’ve been called ‘exasperating’ a lot in my life.

Sticks and stones…yanno?

I’m not here for the attention. I’m here to read and post.

(I got lots and lots of stories about my cats that are just aching to get out, beware!)

What the hell? Make sense, please.

Hey, Beck, post what you want. Tell the haters you’ll sic Big Toe on 'em.

Yeah, this fits.

I’m not posting as a mod, but the first thing I thought when I saw this thread was why the hell does someone need to start yet another Pit thread on these subjects when there are already dozens on them, especially with such a completely lame-ass OP.:smack:

Yeah, it’s too bad the Pit has to be infested with the trademark badx3 threads with contentless OP. I’m probably being petty, but a badx3 thread title doesn’t seem appropriate IMO for the subject matter and what is currently going on in this country. Just as it was not appropriate for the Quarantine forum.

Oh, don’t be so sanctimonious. It’s a forum on a message board.

And, I like my OP. I think it’s cool.

Even if I wasn’t sick, secluded, house bound, scared and lazy, I wouldn’t be anywhere near where a protest might happen.

This is the best I can do.

A ‘Virtual’ protest. Seems like a bunch of things are ‘virtual’ these days. Why not a protest?

(I promise to never start a bad, bad, bad thread in the pit again)

The thing is, even when you don’t “post as a mod”, you still have more power than anyone else. I don’t understand why you’d post something like this. Way to kill content.

It’s interesting that the people who are dumping on Beck don’t post very much. But wow, she’s in the Pit, so let’s take this opportunity to shit on someone who’s done more to make this board a community than anyone else. I get tired of her threads sometimes, but surely I can’t be the only with this superpower:* the ability to skip them.*

Don’t listen to them, Beck. Keep doing what you’re doing.

If I wasn’t too fucking ill I’d head in to Melbourne with a sign that reads “cops kill our blackfellas too, know any of their names?” because if I see one more aussie posting outrage at the American tragedy whilst ignoring our own I really want to try to burn a fucking tram in front of parliament house.

But I would never make it.

To all the whiners: If you see a thread started by Beck, don’t fucking click on it. How fucking hard is it to scroll past it? You’re not being forced to read them. No need to threadshit, just scroll on by. Go fuck a cactus, all of you. You too, Colibri, since you’re not posting as a mod.

Beck, post anywhere you want. The complainers are all being bad, bad, bad.

Yup.

From 1987 to 1991, Australia held a Royal Commission into black deaths in custody.

Since then, there have been more than 400 more. The majority of them had not been tried or convicted - they were on remand or in ‘protective custody’.

I can’t fit all their names on a sign. I can’t fit what happened to them on a sign.

The security camera vision of Ms Dhu, either unconscious or nearly so in her cell, a police officer pulling her upright by her arm and then letting her go so she fell back down and hit her head on the concrete; her being taken to hospital three times where staff assumed she was coming off drugs, and didn’t even take her fucking temperature that might helped them discover the massive infection that eventually killed her - that doesn’t fit on a sign.

Tanya Day falling in a police cell and her injuries going undiscovered because a cop only glanced through a little window in the watch house door at her, rather than actually doing the checks he was supposed to do.

Kumanjayi Walker’s family seeing him shot in front of him after police entered their home without a warrant or permission, then seeing him, wounded, dragged by the legs out their door. Their knowing that he died that night, and police didn’t tell them that until morning.

David Dungay Jr, who died of “positional asphyxia”, restrained face down by five corrections officers saying “I can’t breathe” as long as he could, until he was dead.

Mulrunji Doomadgee, picked up for being a ‘public nuisance’ (he was singing loudly when the cop who arrested him drove past), who somehow ended up with broken ribs, and a ruptured liver and spleen and died of them.

Mr Ward, chucked in the back of a prison van with broken air conditioning in a WA outback summer, dying of heatstroke with a core body temperature of 41.7C, with severe burns on his side from lying on the metal floor of the van.

Ms Mandijarra, who was left on the floor of a watch house cell for up to four hours before anyone noticed she was dead. Custody officers didn’t do the checks they were supposed to.

They don’t fit on signs. I don’t know what my sign would say.

I’m not a natural protestor. My protest is giving money to bail funds or to the Djap Wurrung tree protestors, or to Indigenous X. And in my quiet conviction that, short of directly witnessing a crime against another person being committed, I will never, ever call the cops on a black person in this country. I see you breaking into my car and you’re black, I’ll lodge a police report later. My car and whatever’s in it isn’t worth someone’s life and, all too often, that’s what happens.

Step one: Trump’s gotta go.

Bolding mine.

Amen.
