Bedridden Australian pensioner savaged by hungry mice. Couldn’t they just get a cat or two?
Excuse me, but there were THAT many mice and yet “no need to evacuate”?
ARE THEY KIDDING???
I’d want to evacuate if there were one mouse inside. Then nuke it from orbit.
If I ever find any mice in my house, they will hear the screams from Brisbane.
I read your title as “saved”. That turned out to be a totally different story than I expected.
That would be a health code violation.
What, you’d prefer “Bedridden Australian pensioner savaged by hungry cats”?

I’d need a lot more than that, I’d think!
They should have people bring in cats for “pet therapy” since just the smell of a cat apparently deters most mice. ![]()
This really is a sad story. Elderly people should be able to enjoy their final years in peace without crazy stuff like that happening to them.
For one, the morphine just makes the mices’ job easier.
Of course not. That’s why you bring in the hungry dogs, to keep the hungry cat population under control.
And when the cats are gone and you’re overrun with dogs, bring in bears!
That does not go well with the plan to cut costs by feeding the pensioners dog food.
So I’m not the only one.
Poor bastard. And at a nursing home, to boot. WTF.
What’s Anzac Day?
A national day of rememberance for the war dead of Australia and New Zealand.
Thanks. I was wondering if it was somehow ironic and am not disappointed. Poor guy.
Useless environmentalists, and balls-less politicians.
Spraying for mice?! I’ve only ever heard of traps and poison bait used for mice.
