I am getting ready to buy new bedding. I have a traditional coil mattress that I have been satisfied with but I am wondering latex/ memory foam. Anyone had a foam/latex that they have had for years and would not go back to a coil mattress? Or wished you stuck with your old coil? I willing spend good money for quality products and I know foam/latex can be expensive. Are they worth it? Any brands better than others?
I’ve had a Temperpedic for about a year and love it. I’m not sure how it will hold up over the years, but I’ve never slept better. I had a memory foam topper for about a year before (cheap one from Costco) and it retained a LOT of heat, to the point it was too warm in the summer. Not the case with the Temperpedic bed.
We’ve had our Tempurpedic for several years and much prefer it to coil spring. The only negative on this set is that the platform that came with it squeaks a lot, probably because some of the nails used to hold it together have popped. But if you don’t buy their platform, you void their warranty. A positive is that the mattress never has to be flipped. Good thing, too, as they are heavy.
I have often wanted a Tempurpedic, but worry that they will make me too warm at night. Any truth to my concern?
My worry about a ‘foam’ mattress is that my cat would tear it up. She just can’t stand foam and attacks it whenever it appears.
I haven’t noticed any problem, but it doesn’t get all that warm up here to begin with. One big advantage is that you don’t even notice another person getting up at night. The bed just doesn’t move or bounce like a regular coil spring mattress.
