Apparently a bee has stung my black lab. Does this pose any more of a danger to a dog than it would to a human?
Here’s a link about bee stings and dogs.
My Golden Retreiver used to collect bee stings on his nose, causing his eyes to puff up. The vet advised me to give him half an aspirin to reduce the swelling. Never give a dog acetaminophin though as it can be lethal for dogs.
As far as posing more of a danger to dogs than humans, I think the biggest problem is that dogs may unwittingly rile up a bees nest that humans have the sense to stay away from. Multiple stings may cause a problem, in which case a trip to the vet is in order.
Thanks for the link. It was just one sting, although in an as yet undetermined location but it doesn’t seem too big of a deal.
