The name of the maker of your stove will be in big letters on the front of the stove. The model number might also be on the front near the controls, or in back on a plate with the serial number.
P.S. If you can’t figure out the name of the manufacturer of your stove, you should continue to be a renter. You would be greatly overwhelmed trying to deal with the typical maintenance & upkeep tasks required of a homeowner.
White Westinghouse, smart guy. Now what?

Give your landlord a call, WhyNot – If this is anything like the situation I posted about above (and it sounds just like it) the oven’s motherboard has gone bad and needs replacing. Just hope your landlord isn’t as much as a cheap-ass as ours was.
Hal, let me ask you, was it a dangerous situation? The reason I ask is that the Landlord’s out of town until the 15th, but we’re all leaving tomorrow night to go camping until the 24th. If no one’s using the stove, is it likely to blow up or something while we’re gone? If not, I’m inclined to wait until we get back to deal with it.
I’m not a stove repairman, but I don’t see what trouble it would cause. We just unplugged ours for the two years we were there. We still could use the gas stovetop (although the electronic igniter was disabled – we had to use a lighter), we just made do without the oven.
I don’t see any way that an unplugged stove is going to up and explode, though (certainly hope not, anyway).
Nope, you’re right Hal The electric part is for your igniter and clock. Leaving it unplugged PROBABLY won’t cause it to explode without good reason (like leaving the gas on for another ignition source in the house to get to).
It still makes me wonder why in the hell a gas stove needs a motherboard in the first damned place.
Now we need that second piece of information, the model number of the stove. That’s usually on a metal or foil plate on the back of the stove. Here’s a webpage describing how to find the model number on your stove.
