I noticed that on the Board’s banner (it’s right above you) it says THE STRAIGHT DOP®E. Why is this? I always see it at the end of the phrase.

I was referring to the ®, BTW.
Because it wouldn’t fit. Logos are often oddly-shaped, so the registration symbol goes wherever they can fit it. Cf. The Tonka logo
