Beginning harmonica help, please

I’m looking for information on a book or video series that would be best for a beginner. Specifically, one who already has a musical background. I’ve been playing and studying, first piano, then trumpet for over 40 years. So, I read music, if that makes a difference. I know that a lot of harmonica instruction is geared toward people without any formal music training. I’ve heard that “Harmonica for Dummies” is good but I’m just wondering if it makes any difference that I already have a music education. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

No personal experience, but Elderly Instruments has a pretty large selection of books and videos…you might even find some good stuff just looking around Youtube.

This is what I used and I suspect if you have any depth in multiple instruments you’ll pick up the harmonica pretty quickly. The best thing about this book was that Gindick gives you a really good idea of how to get the sounds and techniques…

Gindick also has lots of very useful videos on YouTube, like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-mlcCI8VLk&feature=player_embedded
