Peanut butter and Bacon!
To be more accurate, chunky peanut butter and bacon on white toast.
Ok I really need to go to the store.
Pops Mercotan used to make those. He’d add raw onions too. This was back in the 60’s.
Hard, painful life lessons I’ve learned in college thus far:
Just because you’re tired when you’re making your sandwich to bring to work with you does not mean that plain, unflavored yogurt will taste the same as mayonnaise. Look the same at the ungodly hour of 7:30 AM? Yes. Taste the same at 1 PM? Very much no.
American, provolone, and muenster cheese. With yogurt. Yech.
Sounds like Pops Mercotan was very much a 60s kinda guy, if you know what I mean. 
People that say sandwich like “sammich” need to be sent to the gulags :(.
What about peopel who just type it that way?
They remind me of people I’ve known that say it that way, so they get a flogging at the least.
Sorry, but what Zebra described was mostly certainly a sammich, not a sandwich.
Nah, he was born and raised in the depression. After a childhood of fighting with 11 siblings to get food like pig brains, kidney sandwiches and brawn, he liked some simple recipes.
Peanut Butter: good.
Toasted white bread: good.
Bacon: goooood.
All together: Not so good.
Now, peanut butter & banana is actually really good stuff.
It’s all about the Dragnet:
Peanut butter, cream cheese, with a little bit of garlic on pumpernickle bread.
Now I’m drooling.
Nothing will beat the fried egg, chili sauce and chutney sandwhich from Red Dwarf.

I have been known to make an open faced sammich with bread, peanut butter, and melted cheese (cheddar).

Peanut butter and bacon is good!
What I eat a lot of is peanut butter & serrano pepper sandwiches. Yum yum. Peanut butter is as much (if not moreso) a savory as it is a sweet.
I’ve held strong for years that two things will make anything taste better: bacon and butter.
So I imagine this new sammich of yours has to be good.
Slap some giant gobs of butter on both sides of both slices of bread and toss it in a frying pan for a couple of minutes, and I’ll bet it’s even better.
Nothing beats two slices of good bread with a lot of *rare *steak between them!
