That’s a tough call. Which is harder? Convincing a beautiful woman to date you, or digging up a formerly beautiful woman who’s been dead for 50 years and taking the corpse out to a restaurant?

See, I always wondered if Mr. Sharpknees standards were ridiculously high or just ridiculously different. Marilyn never really did a thing for me, but I’m sure there are women that turn my head and don’t turn others’. Maybe there are women out there that most guys wouldn’t look twice at but who have perfect, non-pointy knees. I hope he’s found one and they make each other happy.
The part I don’t get is when people talk as if everyone shares their taste (in attractiveness, or anything else). It’s in the original “sharp knees” comment, and in the posts condemning it.

I think there’s a component of that, but short of fetishistic obsessions, it’s kind of hard to argue against the fact that when the “sharp knees” meme pops up, it’s because someone’s finding ridiculous or strange fault with an otherwise objectively beautiful woman. Not seeing the forest for the trees, to use a metaphor.
I mean, I never really saw what was so special about Marilyn Monroe, especially early on in her career. But she’s not unattractive either, and someone looking at **JohnClay’s **photo and grumping about her belly or hair or whatever is going out of their way to find minor flaws and/or being outlandishly picky or demanding.
It would be like taking Cindy Crawford ca. 1987, and saying she was ugly and undateable because of that mole on her face.
