Being Pulled Over

On my way to work I drive about 4 miles on a road where the curb is an actual 90 degree gutter thus making it impossible to pull off the road. I haven’t been pulled over, but if I was, what do I do?

Do I keep going and pull into a neighborhood along the way or do I just pull as far off as I can?

Just those things I ponder during the drive…

Pull over into a neighborhood off the road as soon as it’s safe to do so. If you try to pull over where it’s unsafe, chances are the officer will use his PA to tell you to keep going.

I was taught to wave at the officer to acknowledge that you know you are being pulled over. If he hits his sirens, that is his signal to stop immediately. Usually, they prefer you to get out of traffic unless they are making a felony stop.

I’d like to know, what you do if an unmarked car tries to pull you over. How do you know it is not a blue light bandit?

I was told that you could drive as far as you need to to get to a place where you feel safe, ie. a well lit gas station or some such. Is this true?
