I thought this was one of the stronger offerings that “SNL” has produced this season. Affleck’s willingness to lampoon the media scrutiny of his relationship with J.Lo and the failure of “Gigli” really make him a comedic asset.
And they evidently noticed what the Dopers here did about Omorosa.
My favorite part of last night’s SNL was when Finesse went off about student loan debt. His delivery was great and the topic close to my heart. I haven’t been watching much this season, so I’d never really paid any attention to Finesse, but he was great last night.
As for Ben, didn’t he look hilarious in that wig during the DJ skit?
Crap, I missed it! What about Omarosa?
Did they do a parody of Trump as well? With his throne, and his mirror across the desk from his throne?
I came in during the motorcycle/sidecar cops skits, it was OK BUT I loved…
LUNARIUS!
Oh yeah, and What happens in Thailand, stays in Thailand G
Major props to Kelly Ripa for that!
Trump is going to host SNL next week! I won’t be around, but I may have to tape just for the inevitable Apprentice skit, which should be priceless.
Best SNL of the season. I was laughing the whole time and it probably didn’t hurt that I find Ben Affleck hilarious. Did anyone else see when he was on The Daily Show ranting on about Saddam and Osama and flea collars? The man knows funny. Plus I’m a sucker for Bill Clinton impersonation.
And Finesse, even my friends who hate SNL loved him. He’s hoping we see more Finesse.
Overall, I thought it was pretty funny. Not great, but good. The Bangkok ads though, cracked me the hell up. Hilarious!
“My wallet is in the dead dude!”
“Boprah” had me laughing out loud!
And those Bangok ads were also very funny.
When I saw the morning show DJ skit coming on, I almost switched over to MadTV because I loathe those skits. It’s usually just the host playing him or herself with Fallon saying “embarrssing” things, but it just ends up being painful to watch.
Something made me stay, though, and when Ben came out in the wig, I was glad I stayed. Funny stuff.
And the Appalachian ER, or whatever it was called, was pretty good too. Afflack with the ferret hanging off his crotch was great. His last line was one of the funniest things I’ve heard on SNL in a while: “One thing I’ll say about this ferret, though…he sure can hold his liquor!” It was one of those off-the-wall, lines that just sort of catch me off guard. Sort of like the first time I saw Astronaut Jones.
Happy
It was a parody of Bush’s recent 9/11 ads during the TV Funhouse cartoon. Instead of the images of the WTC attacks, they replaced the “images of upheaval and change” with other disturbing images, like Michael Jackson dangling his baby from a balcony… and Omarosa.
It was a pretty good show, but, did anyone else know that Ben appears to have put on a great deal of weight? And only in his face? So he’s got a fat face? Like with bigt cheeks and stuff?
-S&S
I noticed he’s looked rather puffy lately, too. Sort of like Alec Baldwin.
The Gigli skit was good, with the mentally challenged extra pointing out all the reasons why the movie would flop. Affleck was good sport about it, i must say.
Yes, I agree.
I like Ben, though I know some people who don’t. But you can’t say he takes himself too seriously, or is afraid to poke fun at himself. The man has a sense of humor, even if the joke is at his own expense.
Great if he makes jokes at his own expense, but should he make jokes at Jennifer’s expense? (Yeah, I know everyone does, but I think it’s kind of tacky for him to).
I like amy pohler’s characters in appalachian medical center. in the first one “she done slip on a turtle”
last saturday “[they] done got some tv in the driveway”
good stuff.
amy pohler, maya rudolph and seth meyers are the best things SNL has going for it. they should raze the cast and build around those 3.
slight hijack - can jimmy falloon make it through a sketch without laughing? hey jimmy - Harvey Korman did it first, and he was funnier.
