On that same note, Interstella 5555, the full length movie Leiji Matsumoto made for Daft Punk’s album Discovery. The first couple tracks were released as standard music videos, but the second half or so was only released in the full version. Awesome album, awesome movie, awesome (if very, very long) music video.

If you Google the title you can find it on Google Videos. It’s really cool. I’m generally annoyed by Japanimation (too much Speed Racer as a kid) but it’s a great story with cool music. My son watched it for 45 minutes straight!

I’m gonna point out the obvious Peter Gabriel videos that were all big hits when released back in the 80s and 90s:

Although the animation was usually integrated with actual human actors, this was definitely cutting edge when it came out back then, and very entertaining to watch.

Yes, because the band is unknown, wouldn’t mean anything and would just give people another reason to skip it. Not mentioning it might increase the chance that they might actually click on it and see a really cool piece of animation. I mean, it’s a fricken YouTube link. You don’t HAVE to watch the whole thing, but it is not exactly a huge pain to click.

That’s not a *good *reason. That’s a *bad *reason. Notice you’re the only one doing it? I expect nobody to know the SA bands I linked to, but I at least gave their names. I didn’t recognise half the names in this thread, but I’ve looked at lots of those.

It certainly didn’t increase the chance of me seeing it. So being coy lost your (still, to me) unknown band one viewer. And I like finding new music, a lot.

It’s not about the pain, it’s about common courtesy, rather than blind clicking.

I’m not saying you’re Rickrolling or anything, I’m sure it’s a nice vid.
