Last night we had our company Christmas party. Usually, these are the usual catered dinner and entertainment affairs. This year they did something completely different.
They had it at the Michigan State Historical Museum and Library. No sit down dinner or entertainment. We got there and they gave us tickets for our alcohol. They were a little stingy there, but I didn’t mind, I have enough friends from work who don’t drink that I was able to get extra tickets from. We got to wander all three floors of the museum.
On each floor, there were areas where we could pick up finger food to eat along the way. It started with fruit, cheese and crackers. It worked its way to the main course. There were even stations of mexican and chinese food. At the last station on the third floor was dessert.
So there I was, wandering the museum (a state building no less!) with beer in hand, just enjoying things. I love museums, especially that one. We had a blast.
I hope they do the same thing again next year.
