I’m deciding on which console to get (if any), and the game I’d probably end up playing most is a football game.
In terms of realism, accuracy, etc. and secondly graphics, gameplay, feel, etc., what’s the best game/series of games available for consoles now?
And I’m guessing most (all?) are cross platform - if so, do they look/run significantly better/faster on an xbox compared to a ps2?
Do you have G4tv? (I got it a few weeks ago, very addictive TV) They just had their ratings show on the new football games recently and John Madden won out, although the other games also did very well. Not surprising considering they’re mostly long running series. They will probably rerun it soon. I think it was an episode of filter.
Anyway they showed a lot of screen shots, examined all the good and bad things about them. So check them out.
The last john madden 2003 game which ive played extensively…It beats almost anything else out there the A.I players are smarter
I’t looks like a real football game you cna build your own team from scratch …
It does have a few faults espically if your the type to just pick a play and let the comp run it as th comp runs the play EXACTLY as written so if theres a hole on another route it wont change to take advantage of it
The other disvantage is some of the menus arent easy to navagate as they should be and you get tired of the announcing after a bit but it deserves all the praise its getting
I should mention that I’ve played nfl 2k1 on the dreamcast and like it a lot, aside from some quirks… how does that stack up to madden? Or for that matter, nfl 2k3?
I’ts the same really in the graphics but maddens really deep in the franchise mode and it even has nfl euro league teams
Also it has a option that if you play eas college football game you can brings college players to your team
But I havent played segas football on the ps2 but its just much deeper play and option wise than anything ive played
My advice is rent em first and then pick
Oh and be wary iof the nfl blitz games If ya didnt like the nba jam games ya wont like blitz as its 4 on 4 arcade football and the sony knock off version is just a miserable experience …
Is madden 2003 available on xbox?
Has anyone played nfl 2k3 or madden on both the xbox and ps2? Does either have better graphics or smoother (frame rate) game play? Either due to the raw power of the xbox, or the fact that the ps2 has been around longer to optimize for?
