What’s your favorite? And why? For the purposes of this thread, let’s lay a few ground rules:
The influence of drugs/alcohol is permitted
Let’s keep them relatively short; say, under 5 minutes in length
Cartoons are okay, as is a CGI film (like Final Fantasy: Advent Children
For me, it has to be the sequence from The Big Lebowski , where The Dude is under the influence of Jackie Treehorn’s White Russian. Jeff Bridges dancing around to “I Just Dropped In (to See What Condition My Condition Was In.”
For one thing, the song is great. Jeff Bridges has some of the best facial expressions I’ve ever seen in it. And Julianne Moore is always delicious.

Old school: “Pink Elephants on Parade ” from Dumbo . Because it’s weird and surreal and funny and catchy.
(And if you like that, Winnie the Pooh has a similar one with “Heffalumps and Woozles”).

Well, the OP scooped my suggestion already. My fall back is the season four finale of Buffy the Vampire Slayer .
“I wear the cheese. It does not wear me.”
This is the first one I thought of.
The first time I saw Terminator II , in the theater, the dream sequence of the bomb detonating in Los Angeles made my jaw drop. Maybe part of it was because the Cold War was still dying down at the time, but it scared the hell out of me… as in, “this is what it would really be like.”
Fiver’s visions in Watership Down . Particularly the one where he sees the field turn into blood from the sunset.

The Grand Central Station Ballroom from The Fisher King.
The escape from the end of Brazil.
Great choice.
There’s Brian’s dream the night before he was crucified in Life of Brian.
I didn’t care for the rest of the movie, but there’s a wonderfully bizarre dream sequence in a Million ways to Die in the West . I actually laughed when the sheep started levitating.
And I have to list the hallucinogenic sequence in Altered States , for several reasons, including a naked Blair Brown.
The B-17 part in Heavy Metal . The boobs part was pretty good, too, as I recall.
The “Jack and the Beanstalk” dream on Gilligan’s Island , just because Mary Ann was dressed in a French maid outfit. :o

Also the 30 minute dream sequence in Romy and Michele’s High School Union was pretty good.
If we are allowed to mention TV shows, how about Newhart ?
And for films, Rosemary’s impregnation scene in Rosemary’s Baby.

The opening of “Serenity” involves a dream sequence that I thought was very well done.
Maybe I should have added a 4th rule:
If possible, please provide links. I haven’t seen half of the ones y’all have mentioned.
