After getting fed up with resource-hog AVG 8.0, I’ve been using Avira. No complaints so far, it’s unobtrusive and seems to work great. It has gotten high marks for virus detection. The only downside is it displays an advertising message once a day, but there are methods to disable that if you want to worry with it, I didn’t.
