Best Halloween candy?

For me, it’s all about the mini chocolate bars. Little Kit-Kats, little Twixes (can they still call it a Twix if there’s just one stick in there? Hmmm…) And of course I love the red lollipops. The only time I ever eat lollipops is at Halloween. But only the red ones.

The little bags of chips are irritating, though, because they’re so big and hold nothing, taking up valuable space in the pillowcase / candy bag.

What do you sneak out of the candy bowl while waiting for kids to ring the bell? Or what do you remember as your favoritest Halloween candy ever, as a kid?

Hands down. Mountain Bars.
In order of preference: Peanut Butter, Cherry and then Vanilla.

Tootsie Rolls.

Tonight, I had a choice of 1 piece of candy from a large assorted bucket. I choice a single Reeses Peanut Butter Cup. So there you go.

Yup. But don’t forget the little Three Musketeers and Milky Way bars, and Mason Dots.

I just had a box of Dots at the movie theatre, yum!

I can’t eat most of my favourites this year, but I have had a tootsie pop. I think I like the little KitKats the best, and Astropops.

Little Reese’s Cups. However, I don’t like the way the minis leave their bottom layer of chocolate stuck to the paper. The real ones never do that…

Bit-O-Honey

Smarties

One year, a neighbor gave out Popcorn balls. They were the best thing ever. Surprising too…as I thought it’d be gross.

They never gave out anything again after that year…but even just giving out that wonderful treat one year made up for all the other ones.

I know I’m in a minority, but most all of those things are “year-round” treats.
I really look forward to candy corn and its cousin, the little pumpkins.

Liquor.

Snort.

Candy corn. CANDY CORN.

Haven’t had any in 10 years. Anyone care to send me some?

Awww! You reminded me of my old home favourite candy to get: er… Smarties

Except that chocolate somehow manages to become even more addictive when it’s in little mini bars instead of the full size ones.

For me, it’s gotta be mini Caramilk bars, followed closely by the individual Reese’s peanut butter cups.

No, those are Rockets! Smarties are candy-coated chocolate! You know, “eat the red ones last”??

Psst… two posts above you.

You and I? We know decadence and luxury. We know deliciousness in a candy shell, even better than a measly old M&M. Because we know real Smarties, the candy of the** GODS**!

And rockets are good, too, but that’s another category of candy of the GODS! Also good for when you’re a child and playing (innocent!) doctor, and the little curly haired nurse hands you your “pills”.

We had a guy in our neighborhood giving out coffee & Bailey’s to the adults accompanying their urchins trick-or-treating. God Bless America!
