Minnesota Timberwolves finally do something about this nonsense.
Anti-Harlem Shake videos are the new Harlem Shake videos
And it seems that the Egyptians and Tunisians may start playing this out in real life…perhaps they will hire the wolf guy and some of his furry minions to do it with real bats in the near future.
The FBI is currently looking for the Harlem Sheikh for terrorist activities.
Sorry but that was terrible. Also they got their asses whoopped by the Miami Heat
Subversive use of the Harlem Shake is certainly allowable. But what I’ve seen in this country deserves the bat.
Too bad they’re about 3 weeks too late.
In the future every internet meme will be fashionable for 15 seconds.
I’m a curmudgeon and simply start off by ignoring every one these things and thinking them worthless shit from the get-go. Saves time. In fact I’m ahead of the curve by hating the next one even before it has been conceived.
I haven’t seen the “Harlem Shake” but would I be right in assuming it is a bunch of gurning gits dancing “ironically”?
Oh, you hipsters, always “I was irritated by them before anybody”.
I wouldn’t mind so much if the music didn’t sound like a hard drive malfunctioning. Even Psy managed to put together something musically catchy.
Bobble hated hating hipsters before hipster hating happened.
I’m certainly no Harlem Shake authority but this video seems to be popular among my facebook friends:
Melissa Harris-Perry straightens white America out on the Harlem Shake
I don’t perceive it as anti-Harlem Shake as much as “Hey Everybody, You’re doing it wrong” You know, fighting ignorance.
Seriously though, you guys weren’t already sick of Harlem Shake by the middle of February?
I guess I’m the opposite I still like the Hat Dance and All you base belongs to us as well as other internet memes even though nobody thinks there hip anymore.
I feel somewhat vindicated by the fact that I have not the slightest idea what you are talking about.
And I hate them anyway,
and myself for feeling so smug and superior.
I’ll make you a deal: if any of the authentic Harlem Shake dancers she praises for doing it on the subway can even find Queensland
(where the five kids who started the Internet meme chose that song almost at random live) on a map, I’ll join her in blaming those same five kids for “cultural theft.”
Or, better yet, I’ll just commit some cultural theft here: “sheeet!” Time was it was always white people scolding Black people for enjoying themselves.

No, this is the best one. Snoopy rocks!
[/QUOTE]you reminded me of this.
I think she’s missing the point. Those videos aren’t really about doing a particular dance, they’re just about being goofy. I think most people in these “Harlem Shake” videos aren’t under the impression that they’re doing an actual dance. Whether they know that there really is a Harlem Shake doesn’t matter. They’re called Harlem Shake videos because the song they all use has that line in it.
It would be like going on television and presenting a rational argument (with a straight face) that this isn’t a link to Harlem Shake video.
