Best home made drink recipe EVAH!

inspired by this topic, what drink or cocktail have you invented? For example…

I had Blue Moon beer in the fridge, and I was in the mood for a Boilermaker. The only whiskey I had was Fireball. What the heck, let’s try it. IT WAS AMAZING! I call it a CinaMoon

California Chocolate Milk

1 shot rum

1 shot Kahlúa

1 shot Crème de cacao

Combine in drink glass, place small amount of whipped cream on top, then a few chocolate shavings.

Came up with it when I was living in Monterey back in my drinking days. Oddly enough, that was from an informal contest my friends and I had one night in our favorite bar in Chinatown up in San Francisco.

That sounds outrageously good!

Give it a try and tell me how you like it!

Paul Newman’s Limeade + Goya Ginger Beer

It’s like a spicy virgin Moscow Mule.

H + 2 + O.

Sorry, just kidding

I don’t drink much else. Some unsweetened tea and the dreaded protein drink.

I will follow the thread. The young adults here like a good boozy recipe.

I’ve already shown the California Chocolate milk recipe to our local Mixologist; the Lil’wrekker.

ETA…she said “wonder if I can make that into a frozen drink”

Sounds yummy, and a bit like a mudslide.

I have an unnamed variant of the White Russian I like.

In a chilled glass with an oversized ice cube pour:

1.5 oz of Kahlua or better quality coffee liquer
1.0 oz of the darkest, most caramel/molasses forward dark rum you like
2.5 oz of half-and-half (can go cream, can go whole milk, but the midground is what I like).

a small bit of vanilla extract can be nice as well, depending on the mood or taste of the day.

I find that the dark rum contributes a nice secondary flavor compared to the very neutral but traditional vodka.

My wife and I were making ‘very cherry’ drinks for awhile. I’d start with a can of cherry-flavored seltzer water, add a splash of cherry juice for extra flavor and a little bit of sweetness, and then a shot of rum or vodka over lots of ice. Sometimes I’d use lime seltzer water for a base with the splash of cherry juice to mix it up a little.

My go-to drink these days is lemon or lime seltzer water, the juice of a lime, a couple drops of monkfruit extract for sweetness, and rum over ice. Got to get my vitamin C!

I don’t know about cinnamon beer but I do have fond memories of a measure of Frangelico in a bottle of Killian’s Irish Red.

Basically, a White Cuban.

Kinda-sorta. You’re 100% right in that same basic ingredients, but in the link you used (and the vast majority of White Cubans I find online) they use white/silver/filtered rums, where they minimize some of the Rum’s flavor to add to it’s flexibility in cocktails.

In my version, I want, no demand the extra strong dark rum, generally a blackstrap rum where I want to turn UP those caramel and molasses elements.

Makes a big difference to my very specific tastes, but of course, YMMV.

I invented a non-alcoholic beverage a few years back.

Make an ambrosia salad using canned pineapple chunks, canned fruit cocktail, canned mandarin orange segments, and a jar of maraschino cherries. Make sure they’re all packed in juice instead of syrup (I had to compromise with the cherries, but if you can find some packed in grenadine, more power to you). Save the juices in a jar.

Put ice in a tumbler. Add a jigger or so of the juice, and fill the rest of the way with ginger ale. I call it a Joan Fizz (in honor of my late second wife).

(To make the salad, sprinkle a package of instant vanilla pudding mix over the fruit, stir to mix well, then stir in one to two cups of miniature marshmallows and a pint of Cool Whip.)

Serves one.
