Aka literary versions of the straightdope ‘ask the…’ threads.
I enjoy reading insiders accounts of various profressions and I was wondering which people would recommend, I would be most interested in those from various branches of the military or emergency services but feel free to suggest anything that is worth reading.
This question is inspired by the below thread where I try to identify a book regarding an insiders account of life on a US ballistic missile submarine
