best line of the year (movies)

I hate to be such a pain in everyone’s butt…

[nitpick]
“There’ll be no living with her after this.”
[/nitpick]

I’m not entirely sure about that second quote. I think it’s something along the lines of “Seems that as there’s two of us, a real gentleman would give us two pistols.” ::shrug:: I’ve be wrong before.

Anyway, so I’m not just in here pissing people off, I’ll add also “Couldn’t resist, mate,” also by Captain Jack Sparrow, as he flips the Aztec gold through his fingers.

I don’t mind, you little ferry (tongue in cheek, but I won’t say who’s  )

What was that Italian Job line that Sutherland and Theron used?

Another one from PotC:TCotBP:

“So if there are never any survivors, how’d the rumor get started?”

More from Pirates.

Orlando Bloom (whatever his name was): In a fair fight I would kill you!

Jack Sparrow: That doesn’t give me much incentive to fight fair then, does it?

Jack (at the end of the movie): Bring me that horizon. (Not funny, but just a cool Sparrow line. I agree that Depp deserves an oscar nom)

From Finding Nemo:
“Seamonkey has my money!”

“Human hair… from me back.”

From FINDING NEMO:

A young squidlike creature, reproachfully. to her schoolmates who have frightened her with a prank:

“Hey! You guys made me ink!”

“My friends call me Kelly for short…”

LXG was an awul, stank movie, but it had one funny line I can think of - “Call me Ishmael.”

Saving Nemo was SO funny, but why can’t I remember any particular lines?

You mean like “Fish are friends, not food!”?

I wish I saw “Saving Nemo”.

Errrr…sorry about that. Thanks for pointing out that my post wasn’t useful or quotable. Next time I’ll run it by ya first.

“Hey, look! Turtles!”

I say this one sometimes when I do anything amazingly stupid/forgetful now.

Not sure if it’s the “best”, though…I may have to agree with the “god among insects” line.

I think he meant that there’s not as many opportunities in life to use your quote. Whereas “Pirate” is the new “duh”.

Ooh! I remember my favorite Nemo quotes!

“I shall resist!”
“Bubblebubblebubblebubblebubble!!!”

Let me add to Kaspar Hauser excellent example from “A Mighty Wind”:

“I would love to see this town in the autumn. I think Crabbeville in autumn would look quite magnificent”

“Thank God for the model trains, because if it wasn’t for those they wouldn’t have got the idea for the big trains.”

“I wanted to get away from drugs, so i moved to LA” Permanent Midnight

I didn’t mean to offend, and I certainly didn’t mean that your idea wasn’t useful or quotable. I merely meant that, IMHO, I would find more opportunities for “pirate” than “why is the rum gone?” 'Course, that’s just me. I apologize if I came off as snotty.

Apology accepted Cap’n Buck. The OP was asking for opinions of best lines. I personally loved that line, and I do manage to use it on a regular basis. The first time I saw the movie, Sparrow said that line and my friends looked at me and said “That is so you.”

And besides, I can’t be that mad at ya, since I’m the one keeping track of the rum on The Ted.

So you’re saying I might be asking YOU where the rum’s gone?

I’d like to add “And now, if you would be very kind.” (Cap’n Jack Sparrow)

and

“Clearly, you’ve never been to Singapore.” (CJS)

and

“Commodore, my effects, please. And the hat!” (CJS)

or, really, just “And the hat!”

One of my favorites is also from PIRATES, but I’ll use the spoiler tag since it gives a bit of plot away:
Captain Barbossa’s last line:

“I Feel… … … … cold.”

The way he said the first two words was almost with pleasure. “Cold” was like an afterthough.
“So long, Charley!”

From Seabiscuit

Another Captain Jack Sparrow line. I have to paraphrase, I can’t remember the whole thing.

“I’m going to commandeer this ship, pick a crew in Tortuga, and then steal, rape, pillage and otherwise plunder my weasley little black guts out.”
