I want some suggestions for movies that are good to see at home with a couple of friends. It would also be appreciated if you explained why the movies would work.
I guess it’d be stupid of me not to leave a suggestion myself:
Guy Ritchie’s Snatch is funny, brutal, and wonderful with friends, as you’re going to want to quote the movie afterwards (they’ll understand why you want to quote it so much).
I highly recommend a classic. Blazing Saddles, Real Genius, Animal House, all good choices. Movies you’ve seen a hundred times, but just keep getting funnier. You know the words, you start laughing before your favorite line is even uttered. Everyone has a different favorite part, and you may even end up with someone who’s never seen it. Then you get to feel all worldly because you know the cool movies.
Boondock saints
if your friends are into godfather and pulpfiction type movies
frailty is good
usual suspects is a great movie to watch again and again.
A coupla flics that are fun to watch in a group-
Welcome to the Dollhouse you’ll be turning to each other and wincing, doing “Dawn Weiner” impressions
Rushmore an all around great films, touching, but funny enough to keep you from getting mushy in front of one another
And, of course, Office Space never fails to please.
If you’re a bunch of guys-
Suicide Kings isn’t perfect, but it has some great moments, and plenty of Walken
A bunch of girls-
Troop Beverly Hills is utterly ridiculous, but fluffy, Shelley Long fun
And Empire Records seems to work for everyone, most of the time. Not fabulous, but entertaining, and good if you’ve got lots of people who like to talk during the movie.
