Best movies of 2000 (help me choose)

I Have to agree with the Muse on this one, I Loved “But I’m a Cheerleader”. I would love to say Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, but I haven’t see it yet. I, personally, loved Gladiator, I didn’t expect to, but it surprised me.

I have a list of stuff I want to see still, but haven’t found the time to do so, so I can’t give any thought on those

Did it get better? I saw about the first 2/3 and did not hesitate when my SO suggested not watching the finale. I dunno, I was enormously amused when the Psycho gave his opinions about pop music from the 80’s just before slashing and axing. Other than that, I found the movie lacking.

Fight Club gets my nod as numero uno. but it’s got to have the worst title ever. If you know nothing of the movie, you hear it and you think remake of Rocky V.

I loved this movie. It grows on you.

The year 2000… a pretty bad one by film standards. When Kevin Spacey is in a movie called by many “the worst of the year,” you know the rest of the crop isn’t too good.

I’m surprised no one’s mentioned Almost Famous, easily the best movie I saw this year. It blends several related plotlines together into one great story. (Not in that Pulp Fiction kinda way. All the plotlines are VERY close together.) Kate Hudson is my latest celebrity flame because of this movie. If you love music, you must see this movie.

I’ve heard great stuff about CTHD, Traffic, and Best of Show, but can’t speak from personal experience.

Nor have I seen State and Main, but I am very familiar with the writer/director, David Mamet, who writes some of the best dialogue in the business. I think he may have directed this one, too, which practically guarantees a good, quirky time.

Chicken Run was hilarious and the DVD is a great time, especially the Panic Button feature. Gladiator was awesome, too, but not as good as, say, Braveheart.

As for Cast Away, the reason it’s two words is because he’s been cast away, not because he’s a castaway. The parts on the island are great, but all the meaning, symbolism, etc. is saved until the last 20 minutes, making the film unbalanced.

Or you can just see Dude, Where’s My Car?
