best music media player for a computer?

Looking for opinions for the best option in a music player for an older laptop computer. Looking for something that uses the least possible system resources, but still manages to play as many media formats (music) as possible as well as streaming media.
Windows media player is out. (Aside from being a hog, I just could never get the hang of it).
Winamp 5 is just too big. I dont want to make it look pretty I just want it to work.
Anyone know anything about Coolplayer?

Any suggestions?

You could try Winamp 2. It was well-regarded and probably isn’t too much of a memory hog.

Agreed with the suggestion to use an old version of Winamp. I used Winamp 2.91 on an old Pentium/90 laptop, and it handled streaming MP3s over a network just fine.

Yep, just to second and third their opinions, Winamp 2 ought to do the job nicely.

soudns good. Ill try er out.

Foobar2000 is a very light weight music player program.
